Good to hear a company is willing to put out 6.5 performance Mechanical IP's. Wish I would have been around for that, nostalgia and all. Good on ya to equip it. Best wishes on the dyno. I did keep the motor mounts/rolling chassis for the 6.5 Camaro just in case I get the itch. Three year old...
Nice truck 6.5L. I am glad you got the bugs worked out of WMI. I remember the days of the Snow WMI kit pushing the Diesel Camaro over 120 mph. Your truck runs strong, thanks for the post and videos! Take care and have fun!
Top to Bottom, excellent work. I am an old member here, just had some time to reminisce. Buddy of mine has a 69 C10 383 and I personally have done a unique 6.5 TD conversion, seeing those two worlds collide here is something special. You did it right. Enjoy!
agreed with others, this is very well built and clean. I knew someone would mess with the factory cast manifolds enough to find the right twin setup. great placement of the hot pressure side/turbos, and smart working with iron to remove the chance of cracks. like how you divided the cold sides too.
Good ole Heath. His name is iconic in the 6.5 market. I marvel at the path he has created for the 6.5 and it's performance. However I too am on my own path, and I will respectfully decline his advice/guidelines on building this engine.
yep I remember that thread. I think he cut his seats for those, and had a set of roller rockers. I am interested in keeping the 6.5L rockers and an uncut head.
Can anyone tell me how much a Precup is supposed to protrude out of the head? Or is it flush?
wild question: has anyone done a...
This mission is in it's infancy. But I will still share what I have gathered so far.
Questions: how important and difficult is it to have a perfectly balanced rotating assembly?
How hard is it to find a set of (8) rods that are exact same dimensions?

ahh... sarcasm. Thanks Tanman_2006. The internet leaves much to be desired as far as face-to-face convos, you know? Alot is missed, or misunderstood.
I know chevydiesel has experience building the 6.5, so I was hoping that his first post in this thread, wasn't the last.
haha, do you have anything important to add?
if not, you can see your way out.
I built this whole car by myself. every bolt, wire. If things keep going this way, I guess I am building my first 6.5 engine alone too. Not a problem.
I don't come to these forums to gain support, or friends...
why am I up? full moon it is.

Ok, I am looking to finish my quest for a replacement valve spring, capable of higher rpms, cam events that will fit in the stock seat. A Single spring setup, not dual

As you can tell I am a big fan of zipties, The "right stuff" gasket maker, and loctite (when used in the proper application for the PC people)
so far I have all the fluid passages disconnected, wiring harness, turbo system, radiator, oil drained. As much as I had time for today. I am hoping...

scary thought huh?
I will take a good look at the bearings.
With all the mods/changes done to this car, I am just happy it lived long enough to allow me to do all that. I learned alot. I'm gonna be much more prepared when dialing in the new engine.

just following up to say that my Lift Pump was in fact weak(pressure only at idle/ko-eo)(none under load), and I replaced it with a Walbro. I did also remove the bed and pull the fuel sending unit out to inspect. It was ok, tube a little rusty, sock had...
