Have been going for nearly 6 months now with no problem, only hing is the idle fuel rate is a bit low according to what it should be. But no problems with the truck and all the codes I kept getting before I changed the OS is now gone.
After the OS change everything has been going fine, truck runs good no codes or problem.
But, there is always a but, my idle fuel is at 4, should I try a bump to get it a little higher? what are the consequences of leaving it as is?
Thanks
So I ended up getting a used pump cheap and took the optical sensor out of that and stuck it into the pump in the truck and all codes disappeared except the 16. Have just under 6mm2 of idle fuel and it runs perfect now.
Took the optical sensor from my pump and checked it, the electronics...
Ok tested the OS and CPS, there is no change in how it behaves or what codes I get with OS plugged in or unplugged. With the CPS unplugged and Os connected there is no start.
Reading the voltage from the ECM says 13.5Volts on battery voltage with engine running and 1.3 Volts on the Voltage...
I have now gone through the DTC checklists for the most common codes I have and need some help with the results.
First DTC 17 &18
checked for 5 volts on terminal A on the optical sensor harness and valid ground on D both checked out.
For 17 disconnected shutoff solenoid and checked voltage on...
The alternator sounded plausible so I tried removing the cables from it and took off the belt to see if that made a change but no joy.
Was wondering if the TPS could have something to do with it as on the last trip it kept ticking at 1500 rpms, had to brake and gently tap the throttle before it...
Took off all the grounds today cleaned and ground everything down to bare metal, also added redundant grounds so each ground point is now attached to two other ground points in the hope if one of them is bad it will jump to another and still work.
Still had the problem with long crank on startup...
I keep getting pump and other codes and need some help figuring this out. The truck is a 95 K1500. Started out earlier this year with first a no start and then hard start with pump codes, ran the atf through the pump a few times and it cleared and worked fine for a short time and then it started...
THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!! The ATF did the trick didnt take long until the pump cleared up and works as it should again with no codes.
As for the sound I also believe it is from the vacuum pump although I have not been able to pinpoint it. Checked for exhaust leaks and didnt find any...
I was hoping to avoid the IP change, so what will the ATF do just lube up the pump or clean it also, so i just dump the fuel out of the filter housing fill it up with atf and crank until all the atf is through the pump and then repeat?
What is worst case scenario doing this?
SUCCESS!! It is running, but keeps coming up with code 18 and 35. That combined with tired batteries and starter was probably compunding to give the no start issues. Made sure both batteries were fully charged and then used jumper cables to another running car and got enough crank speed to get...
Thanks yes good and fast responses here. Havent had the chance to pull the glowplugs and check them yet, but the fuel is clear with no air. Crank speed seems a little low, measured with the gmtscan and the crank rpm is at 94.
Hi I have a no start problem that I dont seem to figure out. It is a 1995 K1500 6.5TD. it has been standing without batteries for a little over three months and when I now put batteries back in and went to start it wont. It cranks good and after about 4-5 seconds sounds like it is about to start...
