    Solder is the best. Jb weld is 2nd option. Things like pepper or raw eggs work but are a “get you home” solution.

    When we ran the chrome ones- we used to take some 36-60 grit sand paper and rough the pulley area where the belt rides. Not a lot- just so it isn’t slick. Your glow plugs are still cycling to short unless when you started it the ect was 160 or higher.

    JB Weld. The old slow cure stuff. Used it dozens of times and never a failure. Couple quick scrubs with a steel brush, rinse with a little water then let it dry. Mix up the JB 50/50 and put it on so that its about size of a quarter. Dab it in so a bit goes into the hole.

    The sensors for it are crucial as well. And as AKdd points out- some engines run hotter than others - multiple factors generate more heat before it gets to the job of cooling system to regulate it. This is why I pointed out having used the different crossovers & stats on the SAME ENGINE.
