Why the PPE shim kit for the fpr? Does that somehow keep the pressure regulator functioning better?

Specifically, is it possible to get the air horn / intake out from under the wiring harness and behind the alternator, by just removing the studs?

P0401 code States low-flow detected. Research indicates EGR valve probably dirty and needs to be cleaned or replaced - considering cleaning only. Do you have any thoughts? Also conducting EGR cooler replacement. Aftermarket Sinister Diesel EGR cooler. Any tips tricks and warnings?

I only intend to do mods and maintenance that are solid and do not push the edge of performance. Good fuel economy and an engine that lasts forever are the priority.
