Other problems can arise also if the pump driveshaft is installed 180 degrees incorrectly into the pump itself.Thats another thing you need to watch out for.

That is true.There is no problem dismantling the pumps and reseal them.The problems arise when transfer pump settings are altered and if roller to roller settings aren’t adjusted right.If doing a basic reseal with new transfer blades and liner no problems will arise.

You can see the small E tag on one of the top governor cover screws.When a new EID is purchased a new E tag comes with it so it can be mounted under one of the governor cover screws.

You can get the kits on Amazon or eBay.I find spaco or star brands are just as good as OEM stanadyne.I’ll post a link for you.I could go through it if you wanted me to.I wouldn’t want anything to do it.I would dismantle it and put all parts in the ultrasonic cleaner.

Looks like the pump has the updated EID assembly.👍The pump should be good unless it has leaky seals or corrosion inside.

This morning I rerouted the wiring and solenoid for the extended glow time if needed.I think it looks a lot better now than it did before.

Today on eBay I found a nos 3271 pencil pump.Total cost was $640 delivered with freight and import charge included which I thought was a fantastic bargain.The seller wanted over $1200 in the beginning but reduced the cost a day or so ago when I had another look.The factory wire is still in place...

Today I installed a new return fitting in the governor cover.Stanadyne part number 21251.I have to say this engine is now running the very best it ever has been.Absolutely zero issues.Runs smooth as silk.I did not swap injection pumps like I did plan to do but since it’s running beautifully why...

I finally have the 6.2 mounted on the engine stand.I put some deep creep penetrating fluid upon the machined surfaces to prevent corrosion,etc.I’m pretty sure I have the outer stud kit for the mains purchased but will have to go back through my parts stash and see if it’s there…lol.Assembly...
