A mechanical arm on a solenoid might also work with it wired into the thermostat of the fan to open and close automatically.

I would think the lift arms would be just a helper to push the louvers open when the fan pushes wind, but you'd probably need something like a pull chain to close them in the cold.

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

I guess Once I get the engine home and all, I need to start making plans to have the IP rebuilt and ready. not sure who I should use. if all works out, I would like to get one rebuilt, then later get the one that's on the 6.5 done too. with this engine coming home with me, I will have a...

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

Yea I forgot about that. the 6.2 I have that's cracked is a two piece rear main. Hopefully the pan will clear the cross member. the burb it's in I believe is a 2wd, so is my 93.

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

Would the pan on my current 6.5 fit on that block? I have the other 6.2 that has the cracked main webs also that is complete with a pan. hoping this engine turns out good, once I get it all together and ready to install, I can post up all the remaining parts if someone needs them. if the...

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

Yeah, that is the same as the cracked 6.2 that i picked up a couple year ago. there is some sort of restrictor fitting in the block there that's tee'd off to the turbo on it. did you need a restrictor on there not to get full flow or pressure to the turbo?

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

That is what I was thinking! mine is so worn out that this 6.2 might dance circles around it LOL

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

curiosity has me though. if the engine is good, what all i would need to do to swap. since mine has a turbo and iirc NA engines don't have the proper pistons or coatings for running a turbo. mine also uses the crank sensor on the front like the newer ones for the TCM, will the timing cover...

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

I figure it must have one heck of an oil pump! the video in the post shows the guy turning it with a ratchet and oil coming out from the cooler line. if it's been sitting for that long I would think the pickup tube would have drained out and need to be spun faster to get any oil movement.

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

Ran across this marketplace post with a 6.2 for sale locally for $250. Supposedly the vehicle caught fire in the cab and has sat for 10+ years since. What do yall think? Would this possibly be a good investment to get an engine for my 93...

I'm actually lost as to what your pointing out.

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

one other thing that just came to me. that cable doesn't look like actual cable that would be used for an amp. most power amp wires are heavily insulated with a thick rubber coating making it harder to cut through into the wire. that looks like regular battery cable which has a thinner...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

is this a negative that runs through and to the amp or a positive? I would put a grommet around it going through the hole in the firewall to prevent a sudden melt-down. I couldn't quite hear you in the vid clearly what you said looking at the amp.

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

the steel should be fine, if you want to reinforce it, just use fender washers.

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

You should be fine adding another nut-sert in that steel. that's how the factory did it so it should be good. if you are concerned, get you a 1/4" fender washer and when you drill the hole for the nut insert, drill out the washer to the same size. place the fender washer between the foam and...
