    5.7 diesel up and running

I keep thinking to catch casting sand you pretty much need the filter before the radiator but resisting flow after the thermostat would be rough on it. Run a filter on the recirculation loop that goes back to the waterpump? That way it gets 100% of flow when the engine is cold. Idk, could...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Soy is good base. Now ya have to find out about added ethanol or methanol. Afaik there is a requirement for a label on the pump you fill up at that will say “oxygenated X %”. Usually 5% to 10%. But idk that all states require the labeling to notify.

    95 gasser temp sensor.

In the southwest- when overheating becomes an issue, removing the fan actually helps. 95% of the hummer community understands it because of the insane angle our radiators are at. What happens is in slow traffic or at a stop light & the main fan isnot on yet- the electric fan helps. When...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

The stanandyne is good. There is more than one report showing the he xpd is better. As for his he biodiesel eliminating the need- I disagree. All the fuel testing we did on different bio fuels- it dramatically changes based on what the fuel was made from. Peanuts, peanut oil is horrible-...

Need 4” exhaust from muffler back

I was thinking outside the body like a hmmwv/ hummer has - except might as well do dual! Here is a pic of Eric’s. Member “hummer H1” and the video I snagged the pic from.

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

With the db2- we can run atf as the additive. It is way more lubricating and the cleaning agents in it help more. Most diesels (including ds4 6.5) cant run it. We can actually run off super high amounts- if you run on 100% atf it will smoke. It used to be how ip & injectors were cleaned on...

Need 4” exhaust from muffler back

If you put that in & don’t like the sound- you can easily diy in a muffler, a resonator, or both. I mean, unless you want to Y split it and have a suburban with dual exhaust stacks!

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

YOU CANNOT GO BY “it starts”. You need to use a separate meter on the battery to see what it is actually charging. Post a pic of the wires plugged into the alternator now so we can see whats been done.

    Need help identifying injection pump

I would caution against guessing at the pressure specification. I have seen injection pumps that ran on 4-5 and if it was at 3 or 6 it wouldn’t run right at all. Find the specs is step 1

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

In the way back machine- I couldn’t find wrenches to fit it well. The handle was wrong shape or head of the wrench too fat. So I took a 6 pointed socket, cut off the end, and tack welded a piece of 1/4 steel rod to it. Then with the rod about 12” long, I heated & bent the rod into the shape I...

As in you are going to sell the assemblies or you are going to sell your personal one and are going to something else? And does anyone have a cozy used couch for sale if I buy this? I like my bed but my wife likes her savings account… somethings like burning my steak or getting a turbo is just...

Ds4 fitting for fuel pressure gauge

Im not the guy. I give away every ds4 & pmd I lay my hands on. DB2 gang for life YO! 😂. Much easier for us with either 5/16 or 3/8 npt fittings. We add a piece of stainless steel tubing to get out from under the intake manifold and have a T fitting right there where the ffm used to be. I...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

If you are talking about the high pitched sound that lasts about 1 second the instant the engine stops cranking- that is the starter free spinning. Basically the engine “bucked” as in:almost started. It speeds up faster than the starter for just a moment and the starter automatically...
