Forget what I posted except for the welcome to the forum. Rereading Your post and Your unit is a 1969. Best to determine which wire is broke and fix that wire.

Be sure that the pulley is the proper diameter, if Your blazer has a tach. Oh boy, you had done a previous exchange, if the pulley on the original alternator was a different diameter then it could throw off the tachometer reading.

On another look at the top side of the radiator, it appears that it is actually the top four tubes that had loosed from the tank, observing the washed away thermal coating.
