I actually had a smaller steering wheel on the 69 Impala. Forgot about that.
I used to use the loader to pick it up by the bumper to change tires.
One time I picked it up by the back bumper and the wheels stayed on the ground for far longer than they should.
That involved a little repair work
Whatever I bought, I order the ball and socket to add to the system. As well as a flex to install in the same area.
I might have posted what all I bought. Stainless wasn't much more. Definitely a lot less than doing it twice.
I always try to go Stainless on exhaust. Buy once cry once.
And...
You and me both. But I was married at 17. We didn't have money to blow on steering wheels. Even though I worked mostly 50 hour plus weeks.
I always wondered how the steering actually went with the small diameter steering wheels a lot of guys used back then.
. They came with large diameter...
I use Klein crimpers of this style for regular spades and such as you pictured.
I think Harbor Freight sells a knockoff pair.
For the connectors Marty pictured I have a couple similar crimpers to what he showed.
And a Wirefy kit with multiple jaws.
There's some cheap knockoffs that are...
Same here.
Is that the page you go to and it has some spinning wheel discount thing?
If so, I have looked at the page a few times and never made it past the spinning wheel to check prices
You might also want rivet washers on the ends of the rivets.
If you can move up to a 10-32 machine screw, I would. For some reason #8 screws cause me grief.
The problem I had with Fluidfilm was lack of longevity.
Plain old Marvel Mystery oil out of a squirt bottle seemed to last just as long.
I finally found a guy, not too far away that does the undercoating
I'm thinking about having him do a car we are thinking about buying, if it's still for...
Looks good. I always used whatever oil of anything I had available. Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protector, Marvel, any brand or type of lubricating oil that was handy when I was working on any vehicle.
I tried Fluid Film, but I thought the nasty smelling Amsoil held up better
We need a definitive parts list with links for installing a fuel pressure gauge.
Kind of like the Feed the Beast instructions.
I have a small pile of parts that I hope has everything I need. If I ever get to work on the truck again
I was thinking it worked the other way on the 1989. That, if you pulled the plug, it would cycle longer.
But that's been since about 1993 or so that I had that issue. Definitely before we had the 1995 Tahoe. At that time it was the only GMT400 diesel we had.
Seems to.me, I had an issue there on the 1989. That unplugging that sensor told the truck it was cold and let things work right until something was fixed. There's probably a thread about it on.one of the forums.
That probably would have been the diesel page back then.
I'm not near so kind. Just load test the damn batteries and I will buy them or not.
I've only had 2 people balk at load testing before buying.
And that was quite a while ago. I think anymore counter people are used to crap parts. They hear about them all day long. Every day
