Wiring diagram for 82 c10 diesel.

Welcome Jason. I’m no good at finding info online & have no old books on these anymore outside my hummer manual- and it’s definitely different. back in the days at the dealership & fleet- there never was a single kit for the harnesses. Glow plug harness is separate- a really good one is a...

"Crawl, Crawl, Stagger, Stagger" Truck is limping

Yummy! Sorry to hear but glad you found out the issue. The drawback of filtering down fined is it works the liftpump more so keep an eye on that, and for folks living in a freezer, the finer filter is where the gelling occurs so a heater becomes more of a requirement. Something lacking on the...

Information on the ATS Turbo Kit

But the ATT, A Team Turbo, is double the size (or more) of the ATS, has NO wastegate, etc. Thats why boost is a horrible reference unless two engines are built the same with same turbo, running same altitude, same gear ratio, etc.

Information on the ATS Turbo Kit

@dbdiesel I have added turbos to both 6.2 & 6.5 that were naturally aspirated. I never had good response from them until I turned up my fuel on the db2. It’s not a hard task, requires no money spent. If you don’t know how I can post a link to a video. Contrary to some info out there, it...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Yeah, if no specific reason to keep it, ai would sell it off. You can always turn around and buy a different lil run around car once there. As for what parts to buy/ swap- belts and hoses are something usually neglected. On the hose clamps- buy high quality not low cost- clamps fail more...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

I would think you should be able to call them and ask for rental services near you- But figure out: 1. if you sell it as is, how much $ do you get. 2. How much can you sell it for if running right. 3. Wild guess cost of repairs- say $1000? 4. Towing it will cost you extra fuel of getting...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

That was my thought on the sound. Hence the question about firing out both…

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

On that car- everything starts with reading a computer that controls it. Stop firing parts cannon- diagnose. Codes? Is that backfiring out the exhaust, intake, or both?

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

I would say start a thread in the gasoline engine section. But I know those 3.4 eat sparkplugs and when they don’t get changed in time they wile out the coils. Check your codes. P300 random cylinder misfire, p301 is cylinder 1, p302 is cylinder 2, etc. often just a new set of plugs, using...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

I agree with above- Yes 75 mph is ok. But also- if you keep this rig you will HAVE TO become a proficient mechanic for it. There just aren’t many mechanic shops that deal with these anymore. The only saving grace is you have a db2 instead of ds4 ip. This is what TSP is reasoning...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

How soon do you make the move? If you don’t have towing on your insurance- you might pony up for it now. Them cancel it once in NY a few bucks on insurance might be worth it if you aer really concerned- however most shops don’t know these old diesels so you have to check that before they pick...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

@Big T That flat washer- a grade 5 will “dent” and allow movement later. Grade 8 won’t, but is more prone to breaking. Coin flip which would be best, either way- make it a habit to examine when doing oil changes.

Welcome. The common term for gm trucks after square body is GMT400. The series after that is GMT800 in the 2000 range

    Lower Control Arms

I don’t know, but would guess there are some off road aftermarket companies that would build some. They make them for most trucks to have a wazoo suspension system. Lightweight & stronger so guys can jump the trucks and such off road racing. If no one is, find a custom fabricator that builds...

    5.7 diesel up and running

My understanding is that the archoil is more for cleaning, and I wouldn’t expect that to help anything in new or rebuilt ip/injectors. If it has a really good lubricating property, ok. But the idea of moly into the fuel or heavy dose of atf can do the same. But that should only help with...

    Which clutch…

My nephew has the 1986 6.2 k2500 and handshaker transmorgifier. the occasional trail is the worst of it the truck should get. Even mix of city/hiway driving and he doesn’t try to go fast. No towing to speak of, occasionally (once a year for 30 miles) a car trailer with a pickup on it. It’s...
