    cummins to replace V-10

I have a friend who's V-10 in his 2002 Dodge just siezed up. He wants to know what would be involved in swapping in a cummins? I told him the best way would be to find a 2002 24v that was from an auto truck (his truck is an auto) and perform the swap. The wiring harness should be plug and play...

    manual transmission

I installed several US Gear overdrives behind sm 465 trannies. These were originally made by doug nash, sold to milemarker and then bought by US gear. These units went in between the transmission and transfercase and worked very well. I also sold one ranger overdrive to a friend and he wasn't a...

    head gasket now?...WTF!

Wash the engine off in the area of question to make sure that the coolant isn't coming from somewhere else. Check top of engine valley real good to make sure coolant isn't leaking from hose feeding turbo or other point. I am very skeptical of coolant problems after injectors are replaced, mostly...

Old rusty lines on new injectors, dealer blames CP3! updated with pics.

There is a gm tsb that states that ends of lines need to be glass beaded during injector replacement. this is simply a case of tech not taking enough time to do the job right.

    6.2 flywheel help

The centerforce disc is the same basic torque hub as all the others. I believe the parent co is a valleo (sp) It will work fine, I used to put a lot of miles on so it seemed like I was repairing a lot. It probably held for close to 100k

    Broken f'ing starter bolts

Left hand drill bits work great for removing broken bolts that are not stuck tight. Simply run your drill in reverse and usually the broken piece of bolt will spin right out. Center punching first is always a good idea, as is starting with a small pilot drill and then stepping to a larger one...

    Allison trouble code

Friends 2006 has set a code for the 3rd time, loss of communication from ECM. I clear the code and all is well for weeks or even months. Has anyone run into this problem? I am thinking that maybe a pin in the main harness isn't making good contact. Truck usually throws this code when engine is...

    Dealer won't cover non-stock!

Smoking at idle doesn't exactly mean that you would fall under warranty anyway. Your truck has to fail either the fuel return test or fail to build rail pressure. For smoking, I would try running a stout blend of additive and see if it helps.

    6.2 flywheel help

Problem is, it is the only good choice. If you use a disc from a gasser, you will have much worse vibration, rattling problems. I once tried to use a disc from a dual mass flywheel and machined the flywheel to accept the dual mass pressure plate. Bad idea, the disc is solid, no springs, set up...

    6.2 flywheel help

The torque hub allows the center of the disc to absorb some of the initial shock when the load is applied. The center actually moves around a quarter turn through a nylon bushing. Cool design, just not very durable. When they wear out the bushing gets very sloppy and can cause vibrations.

    A Couple LB7 ?'s

I have a hypertech on the wifes 01 and it picked up 2 to 3 mpg, I also got one for Dads 02 and he picked up a little also, but he has a cabover camper on all the time. I have run an edge juice, a hypertech and now the ppe on my 02 and I like the PPE stacked with the edge. This is not for a rver...

    6.2 flywheel help

The last 6.2 clutch set that I bought was from Napa. I bought it to use in a 1983 sm465 one ton with a 350 gasser. The reason I used the diesel clutch, it because it has the torque hub in the disc that makes for smoother take offs. This clutch set was pretty cheap, only 130.00, included pressure...
