I would agree about letting the summer fuel come back out and see if that makes any difference on the possitive.
Also Jeff, what did you do on that second to last fill up to get your best MPG of 15.2? Was that more highway driving then the others?
That's a really sharp looking bike Greg. Maybe share with us a video or some sound with those new heads on there. When I had my bike, I would always take advantage of that first 40 degree day in Feb. or March. But I was young. Now if I had a bike, I think I would feel more like you Greg. I'll...
Here is what I have been up to and hauling lately. I've been working for a tree service guy since the first of the year. He's also has his Master Electricians licence and have been doing some electric work on slower days for a storage unit place in town. They have been having a bunch of trouble...
LOVE seeing those pipeline pictures. Which line is that out in Utah? That' Ruby line runs all the way up into Oregon.
I do miss being out on the line. I ran a crew pipeline surveying for 3 years ('07-'10) and I had a great time. Got to meet a lot of good people, guys I still stay in touch...

I saw that this article was writen back in December and the truck itself was at the Chicago Auto Show as a concept a few weeks back, but haven't seen anything on here. If GM only had the balls to actually...
Welcome to The Truck Stop JP! You will find that there are more then an handful of guys on here that are well up on their knowledge of the 6.2 and 6.5 diesels. You will fit in just fine here. You should be able to have any and all your 6.5 questions answered here. Enjoy your stay!
Thanks for the heads up. That was what I was looking for, some kind of "approved" coolant. I've looked around, even went as far as going into the owners manual for the truck, and didn't find anything. I will make sure to look for something G-05 approved.
I will have to try that Jamie. Looking at them, they could benefit from being cleaned. Like you said, something simple like the grounds not being clean could cause it.
The last month or so I have been hauling a lot more weight (firewood, one cord in the bed, and 1-2 cords on a dual axle trailer) then I have since I bought this truck. I can tell going up a decent grade, the trans leaves a little bit more to desire. Again, I think draining the tired trans fluid...
Sears, I am a big fan of it. I hope to maybe this summer, upgrade to the big boy Smarty. But for right now, the Jr. definatly gets the job done! I run the 70 tune the majority of the time. This very moment, I'm running the 40hp tune until I get the fluid changed in the trans early next week.
Bump
I saw at Walmart they have the gallon of 50/50 Prestone on sale, the stuff that you can mix with any color coolant. Is it safe to run that in my truck being that you can mix it with any kind/color of coolent?
Welcome to The Truck Stop! Nice looking rig you have! There is PLENTY of 6.5 and 6.2 knowledge on this site that you'll be elbow deep in it in no time!
What, if any is the recommended coolent to run in the Cummins? Is it ok to run the premix 50/50 in it? I see my coolant reservoir is on the low side. It isn't something I have changed or flushed since I bought it. Engine temps have always been a steady 190* to 195*. But when I looked at the tank...
