I apologize in advance- I know that there are a million OPS threads on this and other 6.5TD websites; however, I looked through as many as I could find, and I'm still not sure I have the info I need.
When I was installing a new OPS, I noticed that the fitting the OPS screws into, which looks...
I really don't follow Duramax selling prices, but I just did a quick price check (aisle five!) and am inclined to reject your claim.
$4,900.00 will get you a nice looking 1996 6.5TD, which, btw, has some really good mods on it already!:

To give a little perspective:
My buddy drives an 08 GMC Dmax and I have my 94 K1500 6.5TD. He has a few performance upgrades, as do I. We both love to wrench, but are not mechanics by trade (however, he owns his own construction business, so he is much more technically inclined than I am).
I...
Since we are on the subject of future Heath products, would the culprits responsible for pre-ordering/badgering Heath into selling the first few CAI kits raise your hands?! :toetap05:
Last conversation I had with the Heath guys, they had already promised a couple of the early products to...
It looked to me like the FFM heater wires were stretched too far and that is what caused the rubber wire seal to rip/pop out of the housing (could have been the PO, or it could have been when I pushed the unit out of the way during my intake swap).
I have heard that biodiesel can loosen...
leaking FFM heater
OK, so I finally have some time to fix my leaky fuel filter manager (FFM) and I now find that the FFM heater unit is leaking through a deteriorated rubber seal that keeps the wires in the unit.
From what I can see, the FFM heater needs to be replaced (the rubber seal is...
I like it, and I think it looks much more natural with the fender flares.
I've never used spacers before, and I have a couple of questions:
Are they hard to install?
Are there any negative impacts to driving?
If you used them on the front wheels, would it require alignment?
Thanks for everyone's replies. I figured that r&r of these is not too difficult, so I'm going with the cheap way first, and then if it doesn't work out I can just replace with one of Heath's.
I'll try to document the process/take some pictures for the site.

I've been mesmerized and motivated by the engine building masters on this forum and the DP, most recently by the extremely clean looking yellow power plant built by Ratman/Rich (there are so many others too, TD, the Flatland Fireball..the list is long).
Well, I am ready to take the first step...
FYI: for anyone interested in buying a new fuel filter manager (FFM), I just spoke with Bill Heath and they sell the whole unit for $140 (it is not listed on their website), which is about $100 less than the dealership price. It is a great deal.
The guys at Heath reported that many people who...
Our local GMC dealer wanted 24.00 for the filter manager replacement kit (basically, two rubber seals). Thought I'd try to look around at other options.

I need to buy a seal kit for my fuel filter manager. SS Diesel has the kit, and it is a reasonable price, but their shipping prices are really high. Regular shipping was more than my order total, and this was for an order glow plug terminal connectors and fuel filter gaskets & fuel filter...
If your butt shoots electricity, I'd buy an electric car and be done with the high costs of fuel. OTOH, if you want to keep your truck, Heath sells an exorcist module, which fits snugly next to their FSD relocator kit.
You guys are great- thanks for the info; however, you are also very experienced mechanics, and can plow through fuel systems in your sleep.
When I replaced my injectors, and had to move the fuel lines, I had a hard time getting them back on with no leaks. Maybe I was just paranoid about...
