I run PPE's 90 or 160 for everyday driving and the 40 for towing. I'm not sure about what tune to run in the winter. People talk about how hot tunes are harder on the trucks in the winter, but I don't know exactly why. Not to hijack the thread, but why is that?
My brother served in the Phillipines. He said it was the best 2 years of his life. I'm sure he will be to busy to worry about being homesick. I'm about 100 miles East of Provo.
Thats what I was thinking. I use a fairly gentle foot on lvl3. I keep an eye on my TC slip constantly in the upper gears.
I stay at work for about 5-7 days at a time, go home for a couple days then go back for a another week or so. It gets old as you could imagine. Thanks for the input.
I have a few questions about what tune is better for my motor based on a few observations.
I generally run my PPE on lvl2 and 3. I drive about 250 mi. one way to work. My starting elevation is around 5200' and peak out at around 9500'. I end up at around 7000'. During my trip I have 3 good...
Looks like it will be a pita to work on and expensive. With all the emissions bs, it will be plugged with soot in no time imo. The design is awesome. Less parts and more compact with good power. Can't wait to see how it all works together.
I am hesitant to reset the taps. I reset the taps on my LMM with a Quad set at 70 and I think it hurt the TC. I ran the 70 tune for around 2k mi then reset the taps and after that the TC would unlock and slip in 5th and 6th with about 3/4 throttle. It wouldn't even hold the 50 tune after that...
I had a Transgo jr. installed about a week ago. After the instal, I rode with the mechanic that installed it. It shifted firmer and faster without resetting the taps. It felt good and and still does, the tranny has learned after about 400 mi. This is what seems odd. Before the install with...
It should be covered under warranty. (Under 100k mi) If the dealer doesn't have one in stock, I'm sure it would only take a day to find one and get it put in.
I run K&N on my yfz 450 and 400ex. I check them after every ride and clean them probably every other. I know they suck for extended cleanings. I have the sock on my yfz and it helps keep the filter a lot cleaner vs my wifes ex without the sock. Performance gains are slight at best; just keeps...
That seems like a pretty fast turn around to me. I wouldn't give them to hard a time. If they wanted, they could pry into your mods and deny your warranty. Glad you got it fixed.
I would offer 19.5K and get a 50k mi warranty. Try and get all the service records you can. That would be the determining factor for me. You never know how people take care of there trucks. I always run the best oil in mine and change it more than needed. Some people couldn't care less...
