And many others have too,I don't get it but for some reason or another I see a difference in temperature.
I'm not gonna fight it ,I'll stick with the red filter.
I know this has been discussed to death before but I can ONLY report my findings.
Recently I changed out my Allison spin on. I was out of the OEM red ones so I just went to Napa and picked up their filter. I believe they
re Wix brand?
Anyway I've been driving my truck as of late because my...
Thats why they do it,it's a gimmick and well, dumb.
Not for nothing but that site drives me nuts and sorry I wont vote. With all the sidebar chatbox and thank you posts there is more crap there than a friggen sewage plant!

Anyway good luck with the outcome...
I don't think the cracks will effect performance but it does show the heat that is present. These pads aren't riveted but glued also. This may attribute to the longevity people are seeing with these brakes.
I believe I pooched the rotor on the driverside being the dominant braking wheel closes...
I think I've only heard of one maybe two that have EVER seen the light in the dash illuminate and I don't even think there was water in the filter. :eek6:
It's a poor design and probably takes a huge slug of water to make it come on and at that point you have major run-ability issues...
Yup
Mine is a dually so I had to remove the adapter. It's a easy job
Nuts to bolts from getting it up in the air removing tires to brake job bleeding entire system to reinstalling the tires it took 6 hrs.
Keep in mind I was working being distracted by my workers and customers on the phone...
I had approx 63,000 on the truck. The rears were replaced at about 15,000 when a axle seal went. I have ONLY done light towing in these 63k miles.
Longest tow was 600 miles towing my Jeep home and another 600 miles towing my bike. A attribute all the excessive wear and tear to doing burnouts...
I didn't take any pictures of the back as all I did was swap out the pads. The rotors were in great shape.
I also bleed swapped out the fluid to DOT 3 Synthetic. Truck brakes are once again brandy new!
Finished look.
The only pain in the butt piece is the caliper hanger to get off. Be well prepared with a 1/2 drive breaker bar and a 2 or 3 foot pipe for more leverage.
More pictures off different state of disassembled and assembled.
It's a pretty straight forward job to do all four corners but time consuming. I have a big truck but I got that puppy up in the air.
I'm kicking myself in the plumbs for selling my cyro rotors as I needed a rotor.
As you can tell ,or I'm going to tell you, burnouts aren't very...
Yea I'm aware of the newer engines and have seen MANY of the old vibrators that's why I guess the old ways of still requiring or 'suggesting' loctite just about every thing still exist today.
I use the blue over the red in most cases. When needed
Ya I don't get the whole Loctite issue myself every where. I only use it in critical areas. I think today it's more of a safety reason than a vibration one. My 05 Fatboy even solid mount hardly and I should say doesn't vibrate.
You want to talk OVER abuse on Loctite, the guy who did my motor...
If it's leaking bad enough you'll have to replace rear pads and parking brake shoes also. The pads/shoes get contaminated
Thanks for the info on the brake fluid. I'll just go DOT 3
Hmmmm interesting as I'm getting ready to inspect mine as my peddle feels low. I'm around 65k. The rears have been changed at about 10k with a blown axle seal.
I'm also going to replace and bleed the fluid out to synthetic.
I know I just did this (swap to synthetic DOT 3) in my Jeep and what...
I would try the Prep-sol in a spray bottle (no garage should be with out this stuff) and a clay bar. You will have to re-wax the area. Also I would use some 3-m hand glaze prior to waxing.
I finally FIRST time this year had a fun filled riding weekend, better late than never.
Two days covering the state I rode just under 600 miles!
Some solo and some with the wife. All started a bit tragic as on my way to my buddies house I stumbled onto this accident with the first...
On my 01 today and so far quite impressed. I had Rancho 5000's on there previous and they were starting to give up at about 50k.
I've been very hesitant to go Bilsteins for fear of a harsh ride. My only experience was on lighter vehicles I will say.
But to be honest with this Dually it...
I have the same pipes on my bike pictured in my avatar. They are loud and being short you as a rider better like LOUD. Especially with a motor pushing some air or should I say breathing.
I'm at 100/100 at the rear wheel.
Lot's of work done on that bike. Get comfortable and Enjoy
