Got the date's on the block and heads answered in my post in the 6.2 section, Block is 6.2l cast June 01, 1982, Heads also 6.2 diesel cast May 25, 1988.
I've read these where the worst castings is this correct????
THANK-YOU chickenhunter!!!!!! Now I know what I'm dealing with, like I said it's a Jasper Reman out of a 87 van that was bought in 2000 so it could have been any number of years..
I know it's a 6.2 question there's just more people that view this section so I figured I ask here.
Can anybody help with the block & heads casting numbers?? & date codes?? in my build up post in the 6.2 section??

Is it so you don't suck the pan dry at higher RPM's with the stock pan?? Or is there some kind of oiling issue with these motors??
Also what about running a low pressure/high volume pump???
I'm asking because I'm running ( already in the truck from before) -10 oil line...
Is there a difference between the 6.2 & 6.5TD IP flow wise??

Well here goes nothing!!! Got the 6.2 that I'll be putting in the burban, it's a jasper reman that was bought in Oct of 2000 ( so say's Jasper, Call to get info on the motor) got the complete motor with wiring harness for firewall forward for $750.

I'd try the Folwmaster 70 series!! I run them on the burban with the 408 sounded good and interior levels where almost nill. Don't know if they make a 4" ?? pretty sure they make a 3.5
