My truck is dead . . . need some help here

The SES light would come and and there was no code to be found. Also, the WTS would come on like normal, then it would blink and go out.

My truck is dead . . . need some help here

OK, last night I went through a bunch of stuff on the truck. First I started off by checking for codes - nothing at all. Then, I tried to start it, started right up and purred like a kitten . . .shut off after 2 minutes. Opened the hood and took out the plunger off of the Fuel Shutoff...

    any "Tricks"?

I ended up putting on a strap cinched around the torsion bar and then using a come-along hooked to the rear leaf spring perch. Mine were in solid too. I also used heat and PB.

My truck is dead . . . need some help here

Yea, I went through all of the fuses last night as well as the relays for the fuel pump. I think that tonight I will check the grounds, do the IP test at 2K RPM and then swap out for my old ECM.

My truck is dead . . . need some help here

I know there is no codes because as soon as the truck started to fault last week, I plugged my scanner in and it has not been unplugged since. I will try and run the truck tonight with each PMD for as long as possible. Also, I will try the IP test from 2K RPM

My truck is dead . . . need some help here

OK. Yea, I have replaced and checked the Engine Shut Off Solenoid. NEWS FLASH I went home at lunch to fart around with the truck and it fired up, ran and idled just fine. I put the old PMD on and the new one, no difference. Now, if a pump goes out, it is dead right...

My truck is dead . . . need some help here

Yea, actually, my fuel solenoid went bad about 1 years ago. I was driving and it just quit. I had an old one on my shelf at home so it was a simple fix. That was one of the first things that I checked. I am going to go through tonight and check all of the grounds. They should be good, but I...

My truck is dead . . . need some help here

I bought a PMD through my local parts house. It is not a Standyne PMD, it is something else, not the same style case. I am not sure that I trust it. The fuel is new, I filled the tank up, went through half which is where I am right now. It has fuel up the IP though. I think the IP was...

My truck is dead . . . need some help here

Well, it seems that my truck's millage and age is catching up finally. I have just reached 214K miles and the truck took a turn for the worst. It has been doing great lately, 20 MPG, great power, started every time. I did have a P0216 code a couple times pop up but it is not on now. Here...

Heim joints in place of factory tie rods???

The Flaming River Rack and Pinion that is on my race car is has Heim joints on the end. The issue with then as a normal vehicle is that there is no way to protect the joint. With a "ball" joint, the ball is located in the pocket of the tie rod and bathed in grease and protected by the...

    If money wasnt a issue..

I am happy with my Peninsular motor. Takes a beaten' and it hasn't started ticken  Oil pressure is still with in 2 PSI of when it was new, does not leak a drop of oil, starts all the time, and eats tons of boost for breakfast, lunch and dinner):h

    p0236 & De-fuel

Not to say that you did it wrong but re-check how you did it. 10K should be all you need to fool the ECM. Or, you can go buy a MAP sensor for a Buick Grand National, 1987. These were 3 BAR MAP sensors for that car.

    p0236 & De-fuel

You need to trick your computer. You need to either go to a 3 bar MAP sensor or put in a 10K Ohm POT.

Album Pictures Available- Bat. relocate, air box, etc.

I am going to be doing a similar thing soon. The Ranch Hand bumper has a BIG area under which the intercooler hang straight up and down as opposed to how I have it right now at an angle. I am sure with the intercooler upright, it will lower the IAT's at least another 10-20 degrees.

Album Pictures Available- Bat. relocate, air box, etc.

I have a strap across it now. I use to just let it sit there. The ABS bracket is almost perfect to hold it. Also, I cut the fender well and made a 2" deep recessed box to hold the battery. Otherwise, the battery sits too high and the hood hits the batter. Yes, those are shinny...

I was about to make them but then found these in Kansas and picked then up. They are solid too, the front one weighs about 150 pounds.

Album Pictures Available- Bat. relocate, air box, etc.

I have updated my photo album. I have pictures in there of the battery relocate, the paint/resto, my new bumpers, the new stereo system, air box that I made and the 3.5" down pipe. Many have PM'd me and asked for some pics as well as asking me for pics in a few threads. So here they are...

    hx 35 turbo

I will grab some photo's off of my laptop. Yea, it was about $5k and 3 months to do a frame off with my truck. Totally worth it though, better then a $700 a month truck payment.

    battery relocation

I have both batteries on the driver's side. I will get some pics and post them. I also have made a custom air box that only draws air from the fender and from behind the head lights.

    hx 35 turbo

I have been swapping back and forth with the HX and HY. Just depending on my mood :smile5: Lately, I have been driving long distances a lot the HY shows better milage on the highway. I guess the point that I have been trying to make is that if you want a 6.5 that makes great power, gets...
