JMJNet,
Yes, it was started yesterday. It is my wife's daily driver. With 4 kids, it is our only family vehicle. Gotta get this thing fixed.
I have the PMD that was mounted on the pump that I changed out last year. I will try to find it and plug it into the Heath relocate one on the skid plate.
Today, my son started up the "Big Girl" and she ran for about a minute. I popped the hood to check the coolant level and she cut off and would not start again. I replaced the fuel pump solenoid and still no start. I replaced the fuel filter and still no start. My lift pump is working as I am...
Hey guys,
My aluminum tube going into the quick connect piece has disintegrated. I purchased a replacement piece that screws into the thermo housing (no quick connection any more).
I was wondering if I needed any kind of flow restrictor. I baby the old girl (340,000 miles) and would hate...

I replaced the connector at the coolant temp sensor and the problem is fixed.
Thanks to all for the suggestions and help.
In the last few days, I have installed a new radiator, water pump, lower rad hose, coolant temp sensor and connector!

Latest update.
I had to drop something off at home and tested the connector by doing the highly scientific "wiggle" test. While wiggling the connector, the engine rpms dropped to normal and the coolant temp rose to an expected 96 - 100 degrees (only ran for about 30 seconds). I chased down a...
Replaced the coolant temp sensor again at lunch today. Same thing, temp at ODBII a steady -40 degrees F.
I originally posted that the temp was reading 40, but it is really reading -40.
The one that i just replaced was only 3 months old. When I removed one of the battery leads, it did touch ground and arced a little bit. Would that have anything to do with it?
Could take it back and replace it again (third times is the charm).
Replaced the radiator and the water pump and finally have no leaks, but I have a P0118 engine code. I replaced the temp control sending unit, but still have the code.
What am I missing? When I was working in the truck, I had the batteries disconnected for a while. Does that have anything to...
retightened the lower hose connection. I finished up at about 11 pm Sat night and probably did a lowsy job.
Started to fill the reservoir and leaking from water pump. Replaced the water pump and now no leaks.
Although I am getting a code P0118 (see new post).

I was leaking coolant from the driver's side of the radiator. I thought it was a leaking petcock. I took it to the local radiator shop to have a look. He determined that it was a crack in the side tank. I pulled the radiator and took it to him to rebuild. For some reason, he could not get the...
Well, just took "Big Girl" to the radiator shop. She was diagnosed with a cracked side tank (plastic), not leaking petcock.
Looks like I am pulling the rad out tonight. It will give me a good chance to clean it out again.
It appears that my radiator is leaking at the petcock. It looks like I can just replace the petcock, but I cannot remove the plastic "plug".
Is there a trick to this?
Thanks,
Todd
