That doesn't explain why with both fuel caps off, I still had no flow from the aux to the primary tank after 30 minutes of running.
The pump with all the lines I currently have on it functions with .5g/min flow, out of the aux tank.
The only explanation at this point is that there's a fluid...
Aux tank has a vent. I will go try it for 30 min right now w/ the aux tank cap off just to test. I am not, nor can I, gravity feed. The tank has a bung for a bung type transfer pump, a discharge which draws from the bottom of the tank and it's end (and where my lines start) is basically on top...
Right now I don't have all my tools to wire it up to a switch, so it's redneck as all getout with a $5 radio shack 15' cig lighter cord... manual switch on the cheap. I don't have a filter since the tank was newly pressure tested and cleaned... stock filter will be fine.
So the vent line just...
So, I've got a 45 gallon tank in the bed of the truck. Didn't have parts or time before the holidays to get it squared away, so I made do with a harbor freight rotary pump... and on the trip from NV to MI I grew very tired very quickly of using it on the roadside to top the truck off at 20...
Same boat. Piddly 170k on the odo and everything I just put into the truck is intended for longevity primarily, and a little bit (primarily the transmission kit) is so I can run the 120 tune on the predator.... all I want, all I need, and all I can afford. I can get into traffic easy, get out...
You're going to spend money you could put in much more useful and important things.... and not embarass yourself when, not if, you grenade that truck trying to beat it.
Or, just step up and borrow a bro's Duramax that's a little tweaked to the good side... and watch johnny cummins waffle
At least on the 04 Silverado I have, the defrost button triggers all defrost units you may have installed... For my truck, the wiring was all there, the only difference is in that you have to have the glass defrost portion in the mirrors. Easily replaced, and it's just plug and play.... then a...
I like your rendering, but I would go so far as saying a under-topper bedrail interfacing lumber rack would actually provide you more real estate (and if you built it yourself, possible tie-in for an exo-cage) for storage and/or being able to tent camp above the truck... fab up a pull and...
Additional junk that is getting fixed now, PCV valve that went bad and the block heater..... Watching through the shop door (which is glass so you can see the NASCAR pit crew speed and quality of work and is awesome) and these guys are amazing.
Definately happy I came here and I don't even have...
Christmas gift to my family: MA450 kit installed on the silverado + a new flywheel, since we're in Michigan for christmas (wife's family that rocks is there, lucky to have inlaws that are a blast to be around)
Extended christmas gift is now:
Tie rods
Tie rod sleeves
Pitmann arm and brace
Idler...
Thanks :) This thing is in pristine condition and is an upgrade in so many directions it's silly.
We wanted to, but every bunkhouse setup either sucked otherwise in terms of space/quality/floorplan, or was way outside our price range.
This has a fold-out in the sofa so if it comes down to...
Dump it on something that needs burning, rinse with a little gasoline and maybe scrub with a brush until visibly clean, dump on same thing that needs burning. Throw car flare at thing that needs burning.
Refill fuel can with gasoline, use for a can or two as a GAS can. Then once empty, rinse...
Rear transmission seal going and subsequent bearing failure? There's a nice space between the transfer case and transmission where it could be leaking into.
Alrighty... so I'm more than likely going to be getting an 11k triple slide 38' trailer, and trolling about the lower 48 for an unknown duration of time full-timing.
Stopping is a good idea, exhaust brakes help with that.
My questions are pretty simple.
Why should I be getting one...
I got a new t-case from Merchant. Still need to ship the old one back though. Finalized putting it in the same day I posted asking for torque specs. Ended up calling my uncle who's an ex-mechanic instructor and now works for snap-on for some specs :) Good to go, no leaks and that thing ain't...
If you're still working on this project, and need pieces or just help... elightbars.com is a great place to look.
I'm a bit of a light geek, so I peruse there rather often....... interjecting when it's applicable to my experience.
