Ok guys, I've got everything all put back together now except for the fan and fan clutch. I want to do the fan clutch mod on it, but I want to make dang sure before I start putting this thing together. So I bend the spring to make the round part longer not shorter right?? And then I RTV the end...
Thanks guys, thats what I was thinking too. The search is lacking a little bit on this subject. I'm guessing that the inner fender needs to come out for the best way to get to it?
Yea, I want to get an old square body chevy crew cab dually and do a full air suspension on it. The 74 I had was the first and only full air ride in the town I grew up in. Lol I had to pull a johnny cash and get it one piece at a time. I bought a bag here, valve here, pan hard bar here until I...
GFJ, how does the bags over the axle ride? I know in high school I had a 74 short wheelbase stepside with the bags on the trail arms, and ran about 5-8 psi and it rode like a Cadillac!
This is going to be my first diesel build. I've built a bunch of SBC, BBS, and some strokers but this is my first diesel. I have NO clue on how to time my old ip to the new motor. I think I have a vague idea, but not really sure.
Well buddy, I got one tracked down. I'm going to yank the motor and build the new one up and throw the new one in. Me and my wife are expecting right now, so I need to get home and I think this will be the perfect project while I'm at home for a while. I would love some help getting the new one...
You wouldn't happen to have a cherry picker would ya? :o I got a good used long block I'd be willing to trade your time and cherry picker for
Well guys I think I'm going to build me a new engine for my old girl here in a few weeks. I'm going to start with a Teds engine. Anyone around the Tulsa area want to come and help me out
Your 93 is a HD tho isn't it? Mines just a regular dually. My 09 Ford I had, they re-arched those for 5" worth of lift. I always re-arch mine, and then put two more leaves in them and they work just fine. I only carry around 3,xxxlbs a day, and then go to around 5,xxxlbs when I hook to my trailer.
Well the real reason I was lifting it up was because of my rear springs. It's sitting on the overloads now, I want to get re-arched spring for about 4" of lift. I think I can get about another 1 1/2" out of the t bars now. It sits alittle low in the rear now, maybe an inch or so.
Yea, I have two tool boxes I build for each side that open into the bed. I think I could swing a 4" and still be able to see in at what I need to get. If I went any bigger I would have to make my lids open to the other way
well whenever I bought the truck, it was so low that the bump stops in the front where touching the frame. So I turned them up to what I thought would be around stock. How does the tuff country ride? I don't want a 6" kit right now, because I have to work out of the bed and crawling in and out...
Gotcha! Well I smelled the tranny fluid and it smells like tranny fluid, no sweet smell or anything out of the ordinary. I guess I'm just getting paranoid now :o
Ok guys, I was checking all my fluid levels because I noticed a slight leak at the back of my tranny yesterday. The coolant level was just a little bit low from the cool mark on the bottle, but my transmission fluid was just a little bit high. So my question is, is there anyway that maybe tranny...
