I read through all the threads on doing this mod. Seemed like everyone I read said that the cooler is a -12, and to use a -12x-10 male reducer on cooler end and a 3/8 x -10 90* on the block end. Come to find out the cooler on a 93 is actually a -8 (actually it is JIC) so had to use several...
Ok...I just finished replacing my oem crap oil lines with 5/8 high pressure hydraulic hose. It what was available, had to use several different ends to get the oem cooler to work. Not hard, but had to rehab the mounting bracket and modify the inner grill to make it all fit.
The whole job...
I am fabbing up new oil lines out of hydraulic lines. I know of what size fittings at the cooler. Does any one know off hand what size 90* goes in the block on a 2 wheel drive?
I have the same truck except mine is not 4x4 and it is not standard. It was bone stock but cosmetically in way better shape. The inside looked brandnew. I paid $3300 for mine.
My burb's air bag light comes on from time to time. It is an indication that if in a wreck your air bag will not deploy. Might het that looked at. On mine it is usually one of the sensors on the frame on the front. It is a little box that has a wire going to it on either side. Usually when I...
93 C2500 ext cab. 173,000. Replaced injectors (check signature). Starts quick and fast since replacing glows. Park in a heated garage so no plugging in here. Injection pump appears original. She runs strong! Looking for 400,000 miles.
Yeah that happened to mine as well. I went in and replaced glow-plugs. I realized after removing half the front in to get to it all that the two wires under the turbo had melted at the useable link. That put me down to only one plug working on that side. Was a whole new animal when the new...
thanks guys! I haven't added anything but oil in my truck. I was in the auto store the other day and saw their neat little gadget on the counter. From playing with it a while it looked like it did coat the gears more. But IIRC regular oil has an additive in it that makes it thinner when cold...
I don't know if this is the right place for this thread, but is this stuff recommended in the ole 6.5? Looks like a great differential additive. Any body using this stuff?
1. Bought truck. 2. Replaced all fluids. 3. Replaced filters. 4. Lift pump. 5.130 gpm water pump. 6.180 T-stat. 7. Duramax fan heavy duty fan clutch. 8. Harm balancer. 9. Marine injectors. 10. New battery (pulled the nut out through the post) 11. Battery post mod. 12. Converted AC...
I am sorta new to the 6.5 world, owned two in my life- one when I was a punk teenage kid, the other now (purchased in February 2010). I have heard of cracking issues, but is this a very common thing for all blocks? My current truck is a 93 6.5 my question is how durable are the 93 blocks? Anyone...
I finally found a shop that can do the work!!!! He was able to get the tail pipe from his distributor for cheaper than I found on-line. Come Thursday will have my exhaust up-graded to 4".
Ok, I have been impressed by your workmanship! I have a 93 GMC and have been looking for options to run an after market audio system. The problem with the 93 is that the radio is in two parts: the main radio in in the dash next to the instrument panel and the tape deck is in the dash. If I...
I am looking for a 4" tail pipe that goes up over the rear axle and out the right rear...can't find one any ideas on where to find one? I can't even find an exhaust shop in my area that will bend and make one...
