Hmm, with all the reading I did on DP I never heard not to flush it. I followed a write-up on how to do it though and it went well. Kind-of a 2 man operation. I think it may have been the "Hoot meathod" as well.
I have been running Torque drive in mine since around 75k. It's been good. Before that I had limped my trans on the 100 hp Predator tune. I have been running 65 and 85 with the Torque drive and no limps yet. If not that it would be Transynd. I guess I'll have to talk my dad into a flush since...
If I accidentally put Dex III in my dad's '06 that says to use Dex VI? I just changed his spin on filter yesterday and noticed that the dipstick said Dex VI only. On the bottle of fluid it said "Do Not" use in vehicles that use Dex VI. I had put about 3-4 quarts of Dex III in when I fixed the...
You got it....the dealer actually called right after I got the lines fixed and said they could replace the factory ones with the updated ones for $100 deductible. I said oh well these are 100X better and won't leak again and now we know how to do it. I'll do a write-up when I get some time after...
Well we got the lines off and I brought them to a place called Thermal King of Michigan. They put new hoses and crimp fittings on...had them done within a few hours. What a difference compared to stock! These things are HD. They did it for $100. We had all three lines off in about 2 hours. I...
Well I can take pictures and try to do a write up...not sure how soon I'd be able to post it. Otherwise I can take pics and we can add it to BT's thread.
FYI for everyone... I contacted Mike L by phone and he told me Tony Burkhard is the guy so I went to his website and he sells the 3 lines for $225. They are ss braided lines. Looks like a good replacement. I am also checking with a hydraulics place my buddy knows of to see if they will take the...
Read a few threads about the leaking lines. Has anybody (MikeL or other) made a repair kit for them? All I read about is people replacing them with the updated crimp. My dads truck just started leaking and it's been below 0 degrees here lately. What's the best/cheapest fix at this point?
Thanks
Look into the Mickey Thompson MTZs like I have. I love them...probably getting another set this spring/summer. They make a 35 12.5 17. http://mickeythompsontires.com/truck.php?item=BajaMTZRadial
THEFERMANATOR- you were right, battery. Thank you. I swapped one in from another truck and it runs good. I've never seen a battery act so wierd. One thing I noticed...every time I put it into park the rpms drop and it stumbles a little bit then they come back up to normal operating range...
Said he checked the main bearings and said they were good. Not sure how you could check them with out removing them like you said (probably not possible). He likes to sound like he knows everything. Not sure how good of a mechanic he is but he's not afraid to tackle a project.
Any ideas what those other parts could be? Maybe I could test them or check them? The battery shouldn't be dead or low. It will fire right up sometimes and others I've had it where it will stall and not start, 10 seconds later it fires right up like it has a full charge. It's gotta be something...
This work truck has been sitting for maybe 5 days went to start it up and the battery acted dead. Jump started it and drove around to charge it up but the rpms would dive if I let off the throttle. It stalled twice before I got it back to the shop. The first time it stalled it wouldn't start...
Not sure if this could be related or not but a friend of mine just bought a 90's Chevy with the 454. It has very low oil pressure when it's warmed up. He installed a new high flow oil pump and its still really low. He thinks his may be the cam bearing.
Sorry guys I completely forgot about this post...thanks for the responses. The trailer weighs about 3,000 pounds by itself. I aired up all the tires and greased the wheel bearings before he left. Clean air filter, fresh fuel filter/oil. I know speed is a major factor. I think he was going around...
