I did the 98+ water pump upgrade recently on my 96, reused the single t'stat crossover with a AC Delco 195* thermostat. I also removed the radiator and flushed 14 years of farm dirt out. Since I did this, the operating temp seems to fluctuate between 185-195 on the gauge. I can watch the...
I bought my set of new Bosch injectors from Advance Auto, they got the price pretty close to Rock Auto's. I'm a commercial customer there, so that may have helped. They were India injectors, but new Bosch nonetheless. Worked great so far, but didn't clean up the white smoke puff at startup...
I'll look into that, thanks. I've rebuilt several transfer cases, so it shouldn't be a big deal.
I have a 2 piece driveshaft, but I will check the output shaft endplay also.
I posted this over on the other "place" but I figured I should post it here as well to get some other opinions.
96 K2500 "F" code NV4500. Clutch replaced ~5k ago by PO.
The other day as I was turning a corner and letting the clutch out, the transfer case popped into neutral. I didn't think...
Finally completed several projects I've been slowly working on the last few weeks.
1) My oil cooler lines were leaking from the crimp, and I had band-aid fixed them with compression fittings and new flex hose, but one of the !@#$% ferrules started leaking again. I decided heck with it and...
Just an update to this thread. The original gasket I ordered from the dealer was listed incorrectly in their lookup. The correct part number is 15024604 and was $20.74 wholesale cost. IIRC they list it as an "isolator".
The noise difference in the cab is amazing, definitely worth the $20 and...
Little late, but my 96 has cruise and a 5 speed, and my buddy's 94 also has cruise and a 5 speed.
Maybe it's just my truck, but WOW does it kick out hard when you tap the brakes.
96 K2500 NV4500.
The PO of my truck replaced the clutch, but either forgot or didn't want to put the boot gasket back in. As a result, I get a lot of road and engine noise coming up from the boot.
It is just a matter of pulling it up from the floor, or is it fastened down somehow? Just...
Thanks guys. I could honestly care less about the tailgate, just makes it less desirable to steal :D I would like to find another p/s door, but same thing; it works.
I've been doing some heavy reading on here and the other "place" for a while now, figured I better post up some info and pics of the truck.
I picked it up on eBay before Christmas, and love it so far. It's a bit tight for our family of 5, but finding a crew cab 4x4 SRW in my price range...
