I figured that I would give everyone an update on the issues with my truck. As of last Friday, Oct 9th, I had not heard any news about the vane position sensor (GM #12635324) that I ordered on Sept. 16 from a local dealership.
I called a GM parts dealer (buygmpartsworldwide.com) to get another...
Just got off the phone with GM for the second time... and got no where again! So I called Tyler & Kelly Chevrolet in Lewiston Idaho and talked to a representative in the warranty department and finally got a few answers.
The vane position sensor:
covered under the 5yr/50,000 mile Emissions...
I just got off the phone with GM, and told them about my issue and asked why these parts are covered under the emissions warranty. They told me that the turbo housing, internals, bearing, seals, etc are covered under the 5 year/100,000 mile warranty. The position sensor and solenoid are not...
I was having trouble creating boost between 1500-2300 rpm's and at idle the vanes in the turbo were opening and closing every 5 seconds or so. Then I got a CEL and took it to the dealer to check on. They read the codes as P003a (engine turbo boost controller) and P2563 (turbocharger vane control...
Yes it is the same connection. 88gmctruck has an 02 and his is the same as my 07 classic. All of the 99-07 have the same connection on the passenger side.
Nick,
Dave and I got hit with a bunch of homework this weekend. We are shooting for converting Devin's DRL to parking lights on tuesday (hopefully), so one of us will post the how to after that.
I finally got some towing mirrors for my truck. I ordered my truck with towing mirrors and fog lights and guess what... the truck didn't have either. I ended up buying some aftermarket mirrors from ebay and I got them for $175 shipped!:D
Heres a few pictures of before the mirrors, switching...
I got the wiring harness for mine from the dealership, and it clips into the A-pillar and the top of the cab into hole that are already there. Like 88gmctruck said it plugs into the side of the dash just like it would come from the factory and the lights turn on when your parking lights are on...
I will see if I can post what I did on my truck later on tomorrow. I'm not a big fan of the DRL's so A good friend of mine, David, 88gmctruck, help me to get rid of them and make them function as parking lights. Ill will have my camera out anyway (I ordered towing mirrors and they will be in and...
Well I finally got the courage and took the drill to my cab. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the factory 01-07 GM cab lights with the small outer and large center light. So with the idea from Devin, 83GMCK2500, I bought 5 of the 01-07 GM outer lights and spaced them similar to the 88-98 cab...
Wow that look familiar... I just had mine apart too. mine was just as bad, if not worse. Did you not have you intercooler pipe on correctly when you put it back together?
