Cause in this case they can tell that the ser# of the ECM/TCM does not match the truck VIN. Am I right on this????
You all got me thinking, and now I'm not sure if what I have been thinking is correct or not:confused:
OOPS I should have quoted Pepp where he talkes about buying a new ECM/...
Yes but if U put the ECM/TCM back to "stock", on ecm/tcm, on a prior to 2007.5 mod year a Tech-2 will not be able to tell if it has been flashed to a other than stock tune. Correct?
So I never had gauges with "stock" tunes, pulling like trotorx2 is doing what are the "stock" temps?
I mean he's not really stock either but what would one expect with a bone stock truck temp wise?
Thanks to all :D
Ok I get it with the other than AC Delco filter; I will get one from dealer monday and swap out the (non-recommend) filter:thumbsup:
Again a big thanks a bunch to all; sure had me scared  though at first.
Thanks Dave
So I change my oil (was Rotella 15-40w dino) every 5000mi truck just turned 35K so I think switch to synthetic kool right? New oil: Rotella T-6 5-40w. So now do I have a problem? Oil pressure was above first "big" line on gauge at hot idle, now pressure is below the line
If I go by...
Well I re-read, for "racing" Diesel World's "experts" said a stock set-up could stand 1600 for a quick burst. I limit my self to 1400 and have hit that several times. I dont tow much but when i do it's around 8500# 70-75mph interstate and stay around 1000*F.
Dave
So... The latest Diesel World and Diesel Power mags talked about this. The short of it is
1200*F sustained towing; And 1400*F for quick "racing" bursts, with stock stuff.
I had this some where, but of course when I need it I cant find it:mad2:
I need the load rating for the stock wheels; 2500 or 3500srw. I think they are the same. I'm pretty sure the dully rear is different. My truck is 2wd but again I think the 4wd (not dully) is the same.
Thanks Dave
Well I have never thrown a code but my gauge goes "crazy" every now and again. And every time I fill up till it runs out? I mean when I fill it up all the way.
Thanks,
But I have EFI Live and I found how to disable it. Problem now is if I dont block it right away how do I know what position it's in, I dont want it open any.
So my son has got me involved in changing out a thermostat in a 2006/ 1500 with the V-6. I've never looked at one but I would guess it no big deal, Yes? The thermostat is under the top hose? I know some GM V-6's are on the return, but I did not think the 4.3 was one of them.
Thanks for all of...
