How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

I would think you should be able to call them and ask for rental services near you-

But figure out:
1. if you sell it as is, how much $ do you get.
2. How much can you sell it for if running right.
3. Wild guess cost of repairs- say $1000?
4. Towing it will cost you extra fuel of getting the trailer, towing, and dropping off the trailer. Plus the additional wear & tear on the truck. Guess the cost here-
Maybe others have input on estimating but i would guess it doubles fuel use. The risk factor of overheating engine or transmission???

How long before you move? This will factor how long you have to sell it & faster sell usually means selling for less.
Truthfully another reason why im not even wanting to bring it anymore.

Aside from the cost of repairs, the wear and tear on the 6.2 and 4L60E will cost me more in the long run, not trying to blow up the damn thing by attempting to get petty change.

Also, as of now until February sir

Yeah, if no specific reason to keep it, ai would sell it off. You can always turn around and buy a different lil run around car once there.

As for what parts to buy/ swap- belts and hoses are something usually neglected. On the hose clamps- buy high quality not low cost- clamps fail more often than hoses.
My favorite video on the subject:
I see no value in using them as a lifting chain- other than that, it’s great.

I always believe in keeping the old belt/hose as emergency spare in the rig when possible.
Check all fluid levels- maybe differentials & xfer case never get changed in some rigs…

Currently whats in the cart,

Lines for the power steering, since it is leaking
hoses, didn't select clamps yet
light sockets as some of the lights are unevenly lit and straight up just old
tail light cover (mine are old and cracked badly)
Steering components, since i am tired of having a suggestion wheel

Sincerely wanting to do shocks and belts, just not sure which to get

Belts: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...379cid+v8+diesel,1050635,belt+drive,belt,8900

Shocks: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...+diesel,1061569,suspension,shock+/+strut,7556

Possibly may swap the thermostat as well, been running hot lately, and i have no idea when it was ever swapped, if it ever was

(don't know which temp to get, for reference, this K5 will be a daily driver, not towing or anything
and it does have an aluminium 4 row radiator in it, where I'm going, it gets to 20F in the winter, and as hot as Florida in the summer.

If there is anything else I should look into (or even remove from the cart, as it is not important) lmk, not trying to brake down in Mi or IL on the way back East

What was the year make and model of that car and size engine? and how many miles are on it. the GM v6 most likely had timing chain and the 4 bangers used a belt. my wonder is if someone did some work on it and got the timing off by one tooth. it's not that hard to make that mistake and then drive you nuts trying to figure out that mistake. most chains and belts on that era of car are fairly simple in just lining up the dots and slipping on the chain or belt.

could also be as simple as a sensor, maybe a filed mass air flow sensor or a failed ignition module. getting the ECM codes might reveal something there. tackling the timing is about a 1/2 days work give or take a couple hours. could be worth the effort to have it running right to sell or keep.

Forgot to add, will be getting battery trays aswell, cant have it on zip ties forever

If it's running hot , why do you have a wreath covering the grill ? Might check the fan clutch also .
Sir its the holiday spirit.

It doesnt cover the whole thing, plus theres a hole in the center, didnt take into account for that though.

Also, the fan clutch was replaced this year back in the summer
