    250,000 miles ??

    445k on my 95. Drive 60 miles a day. Installed a penn 18:1 in 2006 at 211,000 miles. Original engine had a head gasket just starting to leak a little. Still have the original motor. Bought it in 2000 with 92,000 miles on it.

    6.5 oil pressure issue.... still!

    I installed a brand new 18:1 penninsular engine in my truck in 2006. Oil pressure was around 40-45 going down the highway, 25-30 hot idle when I put it in. 12 years and 210,000 miles later, it is exactly the same. This was on a brand new crate engine. Not sure you have a problem.

    "NOTICE" P400 motors are no more!!

    I recall reading on penninsular's website that they were not using the p400 for their marine engine base due to the fact gep would not supply them with 18:1 pistons factory installed. I would assume all 6.5 18:1 pistons are the same.

    Bolt part# is 14022672. Washer is 23504011. Didn't check if still available. I got the part# from Berger Chevy & they didn't have any.

    I'm aware of that, but Matt was the owner at one time. He tried to sell the place to me 10 years ago. I'm assuming he did eventually find a buyer. The name listed as owner now is European.

    For the record, the optimizer was an improvement over the gm engine's. The deck is thicker and the head bolts are deeper to combat radial cracking in #8 and blown head gasket.     It seems odd to me to hear the job situation is still bad in some areas of the country. Here in West Michigan, it's the opposite. Nobody has been able to get any help for several years. Skilled or unskilled, it doesn't matter. Large companies have job fairs & nobody shows up. It's nuts.

    It's rated at 250 - 500 in the Humvee. It's not a 5521. Like I said in the first post, it shows a test point of 121mm in the test manual. You yourself have said many times the 5&21 can't go over 85 mm.

    I think my son's whole interest in this exercise is to try to determine if the pump could be run with a gm ECM. So far, from the parts breakdown, it appears the architecture of the pump is the same as previous models.
