    Few Questions

Thanks for the insight Buddy. I might hook up my old lift pump, a 93 HD unit, and see if it was actually plugged or the ail holes were making a problem with pressure. I haven't had it long, so I can get warranty on it. But if all else fails, I'll look at a walbros for sure.

    Few Questions

So far 3 days later, everything in all aspects are great. Hardly any noticeable smoke on start up. Visual blow by test performed with flying colors. My only problem right now is waiting for a tune. Hard on the throttle, defuel at around 130km.

    Few Questions

1/4" worked fine. No noticable problems yet. 2 small leaks on account of me not putting on the o-rings right on the FFM. Other than that life is good. The lift pump I used is a 6-6.5 psi Stewart Warner. Holds a nice 3-4 lbs at idle and only drops 1 psi when you mash it. No mod is without...

    Few Questions

Not freebie unfortunately, it was all the store had. Only 6 feet of 5/16 and rolls of 1/4. I didn't have patience to wait for a few days. If someone said don't do it, then I would have waited, no one answered so I just pulled the trigger. I mean, what the hell, I'm experienced in dropping a...

    Few Questions

JMJ, thanks saves me a bunch of time! AK, I totally put it in diesel, it's drying in the garage right now. I was going to spray it down with WD tomorrow and blow it out. Anyone on the difference between 1/4 and 5/16 other than the 1/16 for return?

    Few Questions

How critical is the 1/16" in hose size? Also, I read a Heath blog about the CDR valve. Mentions taking it off and cleaning it in diesel, kerosene, etc. I soaked it in diesel and while I was submersing it in the pail, the fluid rushed through it as if there wasn't even a valve there. Pooched...

    Few Questions

1- I cut the upper intake out the other day, cleaned all the soot out of it, put it all back together, as well, blocked my EGR with gaskets and a plate. When I opened it up, it was oily, really oily. How much residue should be in the intake? My turbo inlet is always wet as well as the intake...

    1996 GMC K1500 6.5TD needing some insight.

Funny you mention defueling. I freshly install it and my tri pillar and take it for a rip. Boost set to peak at 12 lbs. Deciding since I have an eye on things now, I should see what I gained by the seat of your pants test. I'm just rolling coal being very proud of the boost and the peppy feel...

    1996 GMC K1500 6.5TD needing some insight.

Easy ones first. My ffm has zero leaks. Lift punp was changed in November to a replacement OEM for a 93. I will be changing all the fuel lines for piece of mind, also to incorperate my Stewart Warner pump. The fittings are npt thread so I will just remove the old lines instead of hacking them to...

    Iphone OBDII adapter/app

Louis, are you kidding? I'm a BB diehard, but they have the worst app support for anything not related to business functionality. I love my torch, but having the ability to not have to pack one more tool around, seriously worth considering if you were at the end of your contract looking to get...

Interesting things I find with my new "Brick"

Cartridges are up to 2005. As for torque, I just thought it was neat to see it. I bought this because it works for more then one vehicle and the price was right.

Interesting things I find with my new "Brick"

The arrival of my Snap-on Brick today had me excited and worried all at the same time. I didn't know what I was in store for albeit hoping for good things. I guess I ended up with a mixed bag. I plugged it in and took a 25 minute drive to see what I would find. Found neat things like...

    Reusing Your Stock Oil Cooler

both RDM and my coolers were JIC/AN fittings. His was -12 or -10, mine was -8. My block fitting was 1/2 npt to JIC-8 90* I used 2 JIC -8 Male to male straights but would have used 45's if I had em. ORB fittings are a waste of cash IMO. Almost double the price the 3 places I looked. I made...

    Reusing Your Stock Oil Cooler

Hey, I did this myself too. I made my own hoses, bought my own JIC or AN type fittings and went to town. This is really a coin toss. You could f**k it up doing it with a kit. 3 different coolers over the years. Buying a kit, or sourcing out the parts. Its completely up to you. Mine went...
