It shouldn’t be too bad. I replaced it last year and cleaned the bore of rust and even though it’s plastic I used antiseize anyway. But still fingers crossed. Lol. I know a guy who broke one taking it out of a dodge cirrus. He drilled a hole in it and installed a tap and pulled it out. Good to...

So I just measured the resistance of the crank sensor and it’s in the megohms scale on my automatic fluke meter so she’s toast. New one coming Friday

Yes still attached. Yes on a heat sink and it’s been mounted there for about a year. I’ve switched it out with two other ones and made no difference.

Yes the pcm’s I tried were for diesel. I’m pretty sure it’s the crank sensor. I’m gonna throw one in and see what happens.

I have the pmd mounted on the intake with no extension and it has ground and power while cranking

Also I unplugged the optical sensor and it won’t start. Crank sensor?

so I tested two pcm’s and they both are giving me 2 volts, not 4 like I said earlier, at the green wire on the pmd plug. So I’m gonna say they’re ok. I’m wondering if the crank position sensor is narfed. It’s not throwing a code but it seems to me I’ve heard over the years that a bad crank...

Ha there’s no way I’d buy a pump from Pensacola. They screwed me over and it took a year and a half of throwing parts at this thing til I changed it out and it ran like a top until now. And they never did anything to help me as in return at least 1/2 the money I wasted. It’s an original gm pump.

Yes to everything except the return line idea. I did find that the green wire on pmd should have 1.2 volts while cranking. Mine has 4 volts so I guess it’s pcm time again.

So the engine ran awesome for the last little while then I could feel a slight surge which got worse over the last 2 weeks. Now it’s so bad it won’t start. It will run for a second and that’s it. Lots of smoke. It has new pmd, injectors, ip, timing chain and gears, all sensors are new except...

    Smokin'!!

Wow. You guys sure know your stuff!!! Thanks so much for all of your comments. Now I’m quite certain that this problem I’ve been having for so long now is a set of bad new fake crap injectors. I was racking my brain trying to figure this thing out assuming that new injectors are good injectors...

    Smokin'!!

So I replaced all of my injectors with Bosch from Rock Auto. I've been having a lot of smoke from the tailpipe along with an injector knock. After reviewing my order I found that the picture of the injector on the Rock Auto site says "India". So with a little digging I found the Bosch injectors...

    All Cylinder Balance Codes

Ya I put a new lift pump on it. Yep I also checked for air at the ip return port and all is good. I’m gonna put a new coolant temp sensor on it and see how it goes. It ran perfectly when I unplugged it.
