Help me to find the problem!

I concur Verify power to the lift pump. A quick check, IIRC, Key in the start position will over ride the OPS and provide power to the lift pump. (Someone correct me!) Pull the S wire from the starter to prevent it from cranking. have someone turn the key to start and verify voltage at the...

    Change injectors just because?

They say change / rebuild at 100K. I would think DOT might have done them. If you got records with it, judge from there. Its not like a newer truck were it costs several thousand to change the injectors. Glows, check them. If they all are good and AC's or Bosch's, then consider leaving them...

    ebay heads

The Reman GM casting I bought in 07 was $500 after core. (this had signs of a piston top and ring pieces embedded in one cylinder, but was guarantied) Unless an ebay seller has a good reputation, I'd be leary. But time and money, the lack of either or both may say give it a chance.

Loosing coolant from radiator reservoir during not constantly.

This is a really good sign. The alternative can get expensive enough. As Will L. mentions, start looking for leaks or the signs of leakage. A small leak may not drip when cold, other than being moist. But may leak more when hot and evaporate. These tend to leave a bit of a trail or...

Loosing coolant from radiator reservoir during not constantly.

Examples Blown head gasket, Caused by the sealing ring being damaged. Either from installation or shipping. cracked head that "passed" a machine shop hot water bench pressure test. These were part of a single repair event that took 4 head gaskets, 4 sets of TTY head bolts and a re...

Loosing coolant from radiator reservoir during not constantly.

What i had was not a system fill belching issue. Its a continuous building of air from a compression leak. You can cheap it by drilling a small, 1/16", hole in a t-stat. This will bleed the air until it gets worse. But you should understand IF a head gasket is leaking or not. The other...

Loosing coolant from radiator reservoir during not constantly.

If your loosing coolant, down to a specific level on a regular basis, start checking for a blown head gasket. You can search many good posts here, but the quick check: When cold, check the upper radiator hose. If any firmness is noted, open the reservoir cap to release the pressure. With the...

    Oil pressure low?

Having all the normal grounds, cleaned and tight. I have found that the ground path internal to the instrument cluster is a little flaky. The ground to the cluster was good, but inside the trace foil had resistance. I had added a ground wire from dash frame to one of the cluster lamps, raw...

Nope, std compression, ceramic coated. I expect them to be OK, just haven't started to break it down yet.

I found the noise and think i found the oil pressure drop

I had just over 45K on the engine. The center main lost threads on one of the inner bolts and broke the outer bolts causing the oil pressure drop and the noise. Not to mention the cracks in the block bolt holes. Bambi did a nice job on the rod bearings. It was one from Jamie. But no...

I found the noise and think i found the oil pressure drop

Thought I'd update everyone. I ended up on the Darkside and went Gas. The new ride is an 07 K2500 extended cab, old body style. I was hot on a LLY and an LBZ. The LBZ was sold before I got there. I was going to test drive the LLY yesterday, when I called it was gone, back to the...

I found the noise and think i found the oil pressure drop

The story I got on Ford, and have read, the direct injection triple 4 was a pretty good engine. Stay away from the newer ones, lots of problems and spend lots of money to try to fix them. Update on the search: The wife has vetoed the first candidate, 06 K2500 LT /w 6.0 for $19K.
