I've always just replaced factory fuel lines with good marine grade diesel hoses. Even if they aren't bad, they will be eventually you know?

When did this start happening? Was it after you replaced a particular item? What symptoms do you have: hard starting, won't start, rough idle?...

I'm assuming these are mild steel, unpainted? Would you be able to get ahold of injection lines for a DB2 installed on a 6500 optimizer?

Yeah that's a good point. I had a friend with a stock 305 firebird and lost his T5 twice. Wasn't too rough on it. I'm considering a TKO600 for my 66... the $3600 price tag for the whole kit is what's scaring me.. It'll be interesting to see how yours holds up.

Nice build, I've got a 66 I'm working on. Had a 68 step side years okay that was in decent shape. Do you think that T5 will hold up to the torque of the 6.5?

Yeah that's a good point, if and when the 6.2 goes bad and I decide to go with an optimizer, then I can just reuse those studs. I'm still on the fence about a turbo. It'd be nice to keep my A/C, never really had a truck with A/C. I'm thinking about swapping to 3.73's, then go from there...

They're a good transmission once the GM mistakes are fixed and replaced. If I can source intake and exhaust manifolds cheap and a few other things I'll probably go ahead with a turbo. If I stick to 8-10psi, should I even waste my time with ARP head studs and replacing the head gaskets...
