The semi floater 14 bolt from a light duty 2500 will bolt right in. Did it on my Yukon. As long as its a 6 lug you are good to go. The only thing that will need to be modified is your rear u-joint. Will have to use a saginaw-1350 joint if I remember correctly.

The Yukon are different due to the rear overhang being shorter behind the rear wheel well than the suburbans

The zf6 would also be nicer than the 4500 because there is no steep drop off between gears (3-4) if i remember right. I wanted to do this swap to my yukon

The 10 bolt that was in my yukon had the 10" drums. It now has 11" though since I swapped in a sf 14bolt

on a 3500 you should have a full floater axle. pull the 8 bolts from the end of the axle shaft and it will pull out once you break the seal holding it to the flange, the seal is only rtv so a flat head screwdriver will seperate it all.
