The semi floater 14 bolt from a light duty 2500 will bolt right in. Did it on my Yukon. As long as its a 6 lug you are good to go. The only thing that will need to be modified is your rear u-joint. Will have to use a saginaw-1350 joint if I remember correctly.
heath diesel and kennedy diesel sell a kit, and ssdiesel also sells a kit but it is side dump kit in front of the rr tire. I had a local exhaust shop do a dual 3'' out the rear on my yukon and it only cost $400
The zf6 would also be nicer than the 4500 because there is no steep drop off between gears (3-4) if i remember right. I wanted to do this swap to my yukon
Hey Pav, all you have to do with the air-dog harness is run your constant hot and grounds to the battery, then where you would tie the other hot into a key on source, just use the factory lp hot lead. That way it is still controlled by the ops/ecm but powered up directly from the battery. i have...
Well, got some bad news everyone, I'm thinking that after about 240k the block has had enough. I've been fighting an overheating issues over the past 2 weeks, have flushed it multiple times, new thermostat and gasket, checked fan and clutch and verified coolant flow. Temp is swinging up to 240f...
on a 3500 you should have a full floater axle. pull the 8 bolts from the end of the axle shaft and it will pull out once you break the seal holding it to the flange, the seal is only rtv so a flat head screwdriver will seperate it all.
Now you have me wanting to really look into this, I'm nearly positive it could be done with the existing platform, its just a matter of finding an economical way of doing it. I'm sure I can find older dodge injectors on Craigslist, same for the grid heater.
I would probably want to drop...
I agree with you there, this was just an idea that me and my friend have tossed around since i bought my truck. Now there is a possibility that I will be getting a teds engine come tax time so i may keep the old engine around just for shits and giggles, and see what I can do. Not promising...
I've been thinking alot about this whole deal, me and a friend of mine have been thinking about deleting the precups and putting in a machined piece that would allow a DI injector (such as older 89-93 cummins) to spray directly to the piston.
Downside is loss of glow plugs, could always use a...
It's not hard, I have large hands so I use a long thin flat head screw driver to pop the clip up enough to push it off with my hand. The hardest part is getting the one nut off that is right next to the column.
