I'm getting there!
Might have a ground in the cab going south for the winter!

Ive put the cap on the oil tube upside down and it doesn't move or anything, I'd assume that means its a okay?the additive is mainly to restore lost compression and oil consumption through the rings in the case of blowby. if your engine is running good, no blow by I would just leave it with the oil and no additives.
So you get the one for 8 cylinder. It’s 1 quart so you just add it when doing your next oil change and use it in place of a quart of oil.
Drive truck as normal. Do your next oil change with your regular oil.
If you want to play mechanical scientist- do a compression test before the oil change and write down numbers. Then run the Restore the full 3,000 miles and do the next oil change. At that time do another compression test to compare.
There have been some people that said they didn’t notice anything but never did a compression test. Some folks show the compression test made definite improvements. Others never do the test but can feel the difference
Lowkey tempted to do it, is it.any harm if its not warranted but one still does it?It’s a coin flip if it will help. There are other things that cause the smoking- over fuel especially like from bad injectors. But getting the mpg you said you did- they aren’t bad.
You said the smoke smells like diesel fuel so 8 don’t expect engine oil or coolant either.
So low compression is the only thing I figured, hence the suggestion of Restore can. And it it’s a lifter piston in the lifter making a tick- the restore helps with that the same way.
If you’re ok with leave it as is- then leave it.
The Restore was the lowest cost and least invasive action.
None that I have found. I put it in each of my vehicles. The only one I haven’t is the tahoe we bought at auction and I am about to yank that engine 100% apart anyways. I have two Toyota v6, i had a tiny improvement in mpg on one 0.1 mpg, never measured the other one.Lowkey tempted to do it, is it.any harm if its not warranted but one still does it?
