Has anybody made, used or bought a pull behind Propane weed burner?

DieselAmature come on we live in N.Y my friend. The regulation here is going to be what ever has the most up front cost and what ever they can tax the most for the longest. Lol. Seriously thou CBD is turning into big business.. and I don't know what climates are required for it but NY actually dose have some really nice agricultural grants and tax breaks for start up farms.

My son told Me that I should grow hemp for the CBD industry. Biggest problem in this area is the cops and the thieves would not know the difference between real pot an the hemp, so, I`d be getting busted by the cops and robbed by the thieves every chance they got.
My son has the equipment for producing the CBD and the med card so He does buy hemp and make his own CBD, buys and smokes pot too, I`m not real fond that he is doing the latter so I hope He will give that up after a while.

Yes indeed the Empire State, all they want is their cut. Seriously don't get me started. The state impounded 15 gallons of my unpasteurized apple cider in 2014 because I was selling cider without a license and didn't have a licensed processing facility. Translation? They weren't getting their palms greased, as there are licensing fees. Bunch of food fascists if you ask me. Making small farms beholden to the same regulations as industrial/ corporate farms squeezes the little guy and accelerates the death of the family farm. I'm a case in point, ceasing commercial production after this season.

And of course being NY state, the last proposed legalization bill for cannabis still made it illegal to grow any for personal use. Beyond ridiculous, just another handout to the corporate masters. Compare to the state of Maine, where people can have up to 6 flowering plants per person and a significant amount in the vegetative state. And they wonder why NY keeps losing population every year...

I have a friend up here growing high end CBD flowers, but its all going down to NYC to be sold. Hence the importance of having a market lined up before planting a single seed.

@MrMarty51 , exactly why I have zero interest growing hemp. No desire to be harassed by cops on the left and hillbillies/ high schoolers on the right. The robbery aspect is only further exacerbated by keeping it illegal to grow for personal use. FFS, it's a damn plant, let people grow what they want. As a friend who is a EMT once remarked, "I've never received a call that someone smoked too much and beat their wife or totaled their car."

Rant over :banghead:

Yep little guys always get the pinch. Farmers are no different and may be the worst segment.

There is a series on Netflix called Rotten. It covers some of the corruption in different grown commodities. The show on Avocados was telling.

Everything's a gamble and every business in Illinois seems to be a casino with slot machines anymore. Just like any other kind of gambling, Don't bet more than you can afford to lose.

Since CBD would be more of a business than soybeans, Can I put slot machines in my shed?

Something that crossed my mind. We always used oil or grease on our tillage machines when they sat. Seems to me that might not be such a good Idea as finicky as CBD seems to be. Especially organic CBD. Does anybody have a recommendation for something to coat equipment that will sit outside for the winter?

I thought about Soybean oil.

Anything oil will rinse off in winter rains.
Most equipment in these parts just sets out, no special treatments to keep them shiny and new.
Might see if there is some kind of an organic liquid wax, spray it on and let it set.

It is relatively expensive but I use "corrosion block" ( blockcorrosion . com ) on some stuff and it seems to last pretty good.
Fluidfilm
WD40's specific corrosion product
Vegetable oil and tarp

The sun is what kills most stuff outside so I have always wanted to wax stuff or use a sealant type stuff.
Thought about: Sharkhide or F11

I use that, Marvel and Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal protector or whatever else I happen to have around

We actually had pretty good longevity with used diesel oil and grease. Just doesn't seem environmentally correct anymore

Just personal opinion. All these fuels and oils come from the ground. Granted we refine them to turn them into what we use. But in the amount we're talking about using on some farm machinery I just don't see where it's going to hurt the ground enough to say so.

My son is working in a lab studying diseases on hemp plants. He went to one of the greenhouses for more plants for another study. Being extremely gifted he isn't quite as gifted with common sense.. LOL So... on his stroll back across campus to ESPN it he was educated on the LAW about MJ possession and he gave the Officer an education on the difference between MJ and HEMP. Now he carries a form (permission slip) It was a funny story.

I was on a trip to Utah about a year ago into a small farming community. There was a small field we drove past, maybe an acre, that had identical signs on the fence every 200 feet iirc.
The sign read something to the effect of

This is NOT MARIJUANA
It is hemp. You can not GET HIGH smoking it.
Don’t steal it, you are wasting your time.
You are also on night vision cameras 24/7.
Please ask inside for info about hemp, and PROOF YOU CAN’T GET HIGH from it.

And it had some research company name and the name of a local college on it.

I do wonder how many high school and college students have to post selfies with all the plants in the background though.

In our area there were quite a few hemp fields and a lot of ditch weed as a result. When I was a kid we used to cut a lot of hemp when walking beans in certain fields that used to be hemp fields. We cut and sprayed and it always came back.

I have been meaning to ask the current owner or farmer of the ground to see if they still have the issue.

Smoking pot was often referred to as Smoking rope around here.

A lot of kids used to go out and pick the ditch weed around here. I had a cop friend that came upon 2 kids sitting on their trunk lid on a bridge. They were trying to hold the lid closed. The truck was full of big garbage bags of ditch weed. He laughed at them and made them dump it all in the creek.

It would have been huge if he had busted them

I look for someone to get into the hemp crop across the creek from me. I don't know what type of surveillance they have on it, all I have seen is some pie plates banging on things to keep the animals out of it. The owner of it lives across the road from it so I guess he keeps an eye on it.
