Who ME?
I blame/thank my fellow 6.5 enthusiasts starting with Jfaire and TurbineDoc. Mostly Doc cause he first talked me off a ledge when the SSD Intake came apart and created a months long Stalling issue sealing off the turbo sporadically. That was 2008 and I'd had the truck a year but was besides myself with frustration. But, I learned how to remove an OPS, Lift Pump, SSD FSD swap, and got my first correct order of an aftermarket part completed...Leroy's 72" PMD extension harness which I'm still using despite replacing the bumper mounted SSD unit with Heath's set up (why mess with what's working?). Thanks Leroy, mostly for not getting too frustrated with me. Doc also gets the blame for showing off his polished aluminum upper intake...that was it! Function and beauty at the same time and I was bit with the beautification bug too.
Then there's the fateful day I met 635 and Bill Heath out on the Salt Flats in 2009. That's started not only a life long friendship but also the long journey to upgrades and experimentation (small scale that it is). Were it not for the members here and from the earlier version of DP, I'd have never started down the 6.5 path to...well...wherever its leading. I didn't really know the difference between a 15-3500 series truck. Having not paid much attention, I thought they were physically bigger the higher the number...now add diesel...and then 6.5L.... It's been a great journey and I still learn stuff. What you guys know and write up about inducers, exducers, turbo mapping, transmission internal functions, torque converter stall (?), IP plungers etc. honestly hurts my head but amazes me at the same time so I try to comprehend.
So, since I'm more than thrice blessed with this truck from; a blind E-Bay purchase to; friends on here and DP that I've exchanged dialogue (and some barbs) with, talked with, met with and have made life long friends with; to my family that supports me and allows me to spend the time and invest the funds in this 'education'...thank you.
So yeah, "showing off" but more to the point, showing off what I've learned from the 6.5ers out there. Thanks for the support and encouragement.
