Great site and a plethora of knowledge abounds here. Just can't find this one little thing...

I inherited a 1996 Chevrolet 1500 x-cab w/ the 305 and Cheyenne package. Needs minor things done to it here and there and this is one of them I am almost finished with.

A/C Blower Motor not outputting as much air as it should:
The forum about the melted connection behind the glovebox solved my "speed" problem with this truck, however, I want to be as thorough as possible and add another ground as was advised. I don't know what it is I am to be grounding though. Am I adding another ground from the blower motor to say the frame? Is it one of the 2 wires coming off of the blower motor; i.e. the purple or black? I have basic electrical knowledge and can follow guidance well, just need to be shown the way.

Can someone explain to me what I need to ground to ensure that my new connection does not melt? Pictures would be extremely helpful.

Thanks in advance!

No pictures. Sorry.

I always make a double spade connection at the ground lug on the blower motor. There is a dash mount bolt just a few inches away from the blower. I believe it has a 13 mm head. I use a 3/8" or 5/16" eyelet and go there with 10 ga wire. Even though it's overkill, I use 10 ga. or heavier wire for most added grounds

Thank You! Now it makes sense. I had it in my head that I was looking for something else. This makes perfect sense. THanks!

I will add that ground tonight or in the morning and read up on that link as well. Thanks for the info guys, definitely humbled to be around so much knowledge.
