I have never claimed that I didn't learn elsewhere and learned it all on my own, I do share with others that which I have learned regardless where I learned it. Oh BTW have had significant time underhood on a number of 6.5s & 6.2s since 2000, also spent a few days at a local (sort of) IP shop testing IP's & injectors, so for me to say I learned all I know from Page just flat isn't true, have probably been some places with the 6.5 you haven't delved into yet either, oh & 28 years of wrenching on jets probably didn't teach me anything either, guess were it not for the Page I'd would have not even know how to put fuel in my ole 6.5.



I to this day do not understand why there is the prevailing drive by some to one-up each other, both sites have merit leave it at that, as far as literary talent any day you wish Mr. Kennedy to have a comparative writing contest I'll accept the challenge.



There is for sure a less formal way in which things are done here, if I were collecting a fee to write technical articles as folks at Page members area are; then you would see more enthusiasm on my & others part to draft as well put together material as can be found on the Page with a full paid subscription. Yes from time to time Page does share some of it's content for free, great drives interest toward purchase of other things available there, on more than one occasion I have & continue to direct folks to Page for printed material, it's great stuff no doubt, I have been a paid member there since 2000, just no need for me to post there, Robyn & some others I still am friends with there do a great job there nothing for me to add, so to make some happy should I abandon those that choose to look here for assistance.



I am here to assist fellow enthusiasts for free, I share what what I know for their benefit, I don't make a single peso-cent-scheckle off this site, so while what I may say ain't pretty, it is functional.



As for not being able to come up with an original thought, why then do you periodically direct folk who purchase your kit to me for installation advise if I'm incapable of learing or doing anything new on my own.



AFIK, I'm the 1st person to install your kit in a K1500, certainly the 1st one to publish anything with pictures of the install http://myweb.cableone.net/tbogemirep/ it ain't purty but I give credit where credit is do but a whole lot in there is me.



Whole different incentive to participate in a site in ones spare time, and yet quite a different appearance to it and enthuasism when one is putting food on ones plate with a subscription web magazine that has a forum fringe benefit, that wasn't always free or easy to utilize as it is now.



I left there when old format was repetitive & boring, 6.5ers with BTDT experience "left the room to play with DMAX" & I got tired of the how do I posts, in those days the forum had no sticky posts or ability to easily post photos, had the forum then been as easy to use as Place was at the time I would have stuck it out there.



Now I am too involved here to participate there much, your participation level in 6.5 world there & here dropped as well when you went DMAX & when more money was to be made selling stuff to the Durabux crowd, no harm in that free enterprise system, just stop trash talking those that are here; it's unprofessional #1, childish #2.



Both sites should be able to coexist if folks would just be adults, each site has it's own merits, leave it at that.

Very well said while under attack Tim. Of coarse I wouldn't expect any less.
 
Those of us that know Tim and communicate with him on a regular basis know that he is truly a man of substance and good nature.

As people go, he is tops in my book.

Tim has been a vital and willing contributor to the 6.5 community for a very long time.

Hey ya'll I survived the cannibals, but just barely, you know you've had a bad day when you can quote to the second how long a jet engine can run without oil before it trips on high vibration. 12 minutes-30.512 seconds.

I've been in Boreno 3 weeks, replaced all hot section components, $600K new hotsection; operations people did not restore oil system, owners went cheap bought a control with no remote oil pressure reading, operators did not post a observer at the local gauge, and to top it off the safety switch that is supposed to trip the engine on loss of oil pressure didn't work either.

Bottom line now looking at about 1 Mil US $$$ to replace bearings and overhaul anything that got damaged, was not a good day, I'm homeward bound, am now into my 1st 12 hours of travel of the 50 I have to go to get home, will try to hook up with some of you guys this weekend after I get some rest.
