What I do is add half of a quart per 20 gallons and that seems to help the engine run much better!

It does enough to use just 1/2 quart with 26 gallons. 3/4 quart for 34 gallon tank.

HERE IS A LUBRICITY TEST REPORT

Super Tech Outboard 2-cycle TC-W3 engine oil
    HFRR 474, 162 micron improvement
    200:1 ratio
    16.64 oz/tank
    $1.09/tank

Using the recommended half as much PS nets less than half the lubricity addition at 50% more cost

    MMO actually made lubricity worse.

I run 1/2 oz per Gallon....Fairly easy to figure out with a graduated measuring device (as I'm also adding PS at rate of 1oz per 3 gallons)

Also keeps the math simple for 20 gallons I add 10oz (20/2=10)...or just figure the number your looking for is half of the gallons of fuel you put in your tank.

Wouldnt it be 256:1 ratio for 1/2 oz per gallon( 128oz per gallon x.5)?

I run Power Service religiously. With the recent stalls and code 36 I was thinking of running some 2 stroke through it. Question is do I use both?

Yes, mine were off by a factor of 2, I forgot the /2 in the first calculation.

200:1 ratio would be 1/2 quart to 25 gallons, which is the recommended amount of 2 stroke. Or as you point out 0.64 oz per gallon of fuel.

power service is not a good lubricity additive. If using both every fillup then .5oz of 2-stroke and the recommended concentration of PS should be OK, if the two mix and lubricity adds up, but safer to just add the recommended amount of oil.

If using ND SAE30 would use twice as much as 2-stroke oil.

I know POWERSERVICE says there new formula is different from the one that was tested in the lubricity test awhile back as it now says ULSD formulation with slickdiesel in it.

I've been using 1/2 ounce per gallon for a couple of years now.

ND SAE 30 is oil that is not designed to burn, 2 stroke oil is designed to burn, maybe a bit more lubricity, but more ash, carbon and varnish.

I'm a dump and go guy. Fill up..dump what I feel like into the tank and go. Sometimes if I forget to buy 2-stroke, I go many tanks with no oil. Oh well.
