With fuel prices still rising, what have you tried to increase your fuel mileage? What worked and what didn't.

This is a multiple choice poll so choose more than one if needed.

1. High flow air intake/cleaner
2. High flow exhaust system
3. Different turbo
4. Changed driving style
5. Changed tire size
6. Changed to synthetic oils
7. Fuel additives
8. Change aerodynamics of truck
9. Bed cap/tonneau cover
10. Parked the truck
11. Nothing
12. Other than listed (explain)

Always looking for poll ideas post them HERE or send me a PM.......

When I did my swap I went with an AFE stage 1 filter, DIAMOND EYE exhaust, synthetic oils(except trans which is DEX 3), and put 3.42 gears in it. But for the most part my BURB just sits and we drive the wifes G6 as it costs alot less to drive.

I have the exh and turbo but it was for pulling, the fringe benefit was an increase in mileage. I always drive for best economy.

I COULD get better mileage but that's not nearly as much fun. the right foot just keeps getting heavier. oh well, driving a brick does have it's benefits.

Nothing. Truck already has a tuner, keep clean synthetic fluids in it and the tires inflated and it gets driven where/when it needs to be and that's that.

Changed style a bit and changed the aero package*

* drafting trucks as often as I find one within 5 mph of what I want to run.

well I checked all of these...but it wasn't to increase fuel economy :hihi:

There's only two ways to improve fuel mileage on my GMC, aerodynamics or gear ratio. Neither is likely to happen.

With a mild (+85hp) tune, removed the factory airbox "tornado" thing from the intake and removed the cat, I've been averaging almost 19 running back and forth to work and 22 on the highway...not much else I could do....except cut back on wasted trips.

Im getting a "you have voted in this poll" when I am pretty darn sure I haven't. Is it cause I looked at the poll before I tried to vote?

:agreed: Exactly
Must be a software deal. I had that happen before as well.

You voted earlier.

Here is a screen shot that can be seen "before" you vote.

Wife just asks me if I looking at that "diesel porn" again...:D
:hihi:
Several of us at church were standing around one of the staff pastors notebooks looking at car pictures. Another staffer walked by and ask "what yall doing?" I said "looking at car porn" and he immediately joined in :)
