I need to wire up my alternator. I swapped to a '94 serp setup and a CS alternator.

I basically have no clue what I am doing. While I have done a little wiring, you can consider me a wiring newb for all purposes.

This is what is left of the old: it goes from the GP controller to a pigtail (connecting at old alt) and also a round but connector (?).

Here is the new alt with pigtail purchase from painless (pigtail the right with red and white wire. Also came with a resistor). The wire in my hand comes from the other post on the Alternator (bolt on post).

SO how do I wire this thing up properly?

Diagram in the link should get you there.

Just make sure the alt isn't 'on' (field energized) all the time. Just when key is on.

There is a 'voltage sensing' lead too. Some tie this in to the main Alt charge post (in link pic) but in all reality this lead should be buried in the vehicle harness somewhere. The purpose is to counter voltage drop within the electrical system. It stabilizes and brings up your voltage some.
