Getting ready myself.

Our new vendor is helping me every step of the way, actually. Very nice guy to deal with. Check out my progress. I just got the ol' piston apart 20 minutes ago! My first hydraulic rebuild jobby... Like anything else, pretty simple once you understand it... and like anything else up here in the salt belts, getting things apart sux!

For laughs, find the page of my 2 1/4" wrench with a 7 foot pipe on the end of it for leverage!! It still cracks me up! Can anyone do the math on estimated torque? Gotta be in the thousands!

FWIW, it shattered the packing nut... didn't even break it free...

You guys don't understand the proudness of your rig when you turn it off, sometimes after over 24 continuous hours of work.... Dead tired, I always turn around and admire the girl....

And oh yeah, she's ready as all hell this winter.... shocks, injectors, both tanks up and going (all 3 actually :) ), finally got my exhaust for this year, new HUB, Power Steering pump, Starter, Alternator (and a rebuilt backup), Belt, Backup belt.

Only gamble is the other hub, but if it isn't broke, I'm not going to break it... I don't trust replacement parts anymore...

Now rebuilding the plow. Rebuilding lift piston as we speak, i'll replace all pins, I put a new 8" x 9' x 5/8" steel cutting edge (heavy be-atch!) on it last year. One angle ram has been replaced mint condition, the one remaining original ram is in great shape.

Just had my welder weld some mounting holes back together that were blown out before I bought it, Now just have to fine tune the height.

Man those MONOMAX's handle this 1100lb'er like a champ.....

SO... In case you guys were wondering why I've been quiet lately... I've been busy!

Almost forgot most important thing.

GMCTD"s awesome advice for adjusting fan clutch! No more running hot with plow on!!!!!!!!!!!!

And to boot my Glowshift fuel guage just came in the mail....

The ol' 6.5 is 'all there' now folks... one solid running, solid driving rig right here...

7 ft/lbs for every lb put on the end of it. How much you weigh?:smile5:

Been here -10 c for the last week allready + 3" white stuff.
Funny thing is,90% of the trees are still fully in leaf,mostly still green.
And no, i aint ready for winter by a longshot,just came out the last one seems like a few weeks ago.
 
Well bringing my plow up to the barn is on my list for this weekend. Gotta do some welding and if i can find the time, id like to spray a nice coat of yellow paint on it as well. As matt says, the rustbelt really sucks sometimes....eats away any bare metal.

But im getting all excited for plowing and such. Just had some snow yesterday and this morning. Didnt amount to anything, just stuck on the trucks and grass a bit, but enough to get you in the mood :D Plus i just picked up another two old arctic cat snowmobiles to rebuild, so bring on the snow!
 
Im gonna start a new thread on this......but im looking to make, or have someone make, grill guards/winter covers for 2 of my trucks. They should help everything warm up quick when it gets real cold.
