Hey guys, I posted this in the suspension section too but, got a question for ya. We have a total of 9 inches of lift on my dad's suburban (6 inch suspension and 3 inch body) Will 40 inch tires fit under the truck??? We are already doing away with the factory running boards and putting amp research steps on it instead so that will free up some much needed room under there. Any advice or answers are greatly appreciated.

Not without some cutting. I have new 37in BFG's and I need to do some bumper and fender trimming to make them work off road. I have about a 6-7in lift over stock. My front axle is pushed forward a little bit as well to keep the wheel out of the back of the fender , and it rubs there as well.

I don't know about the fit but I'd be doing some serious upgrading with the brakes and steering. The gearing would have to be changed also. [4.56 or lower]

OK, well the truck really doesnt get driven much. Its my dads truck and he uses it to go back and forth to the gym and a little running here and there. We have 35's on it right now but they look absolutely tiny in the wheel wells. Thank you guys for the help so far.

My 35's will grab the edge of the fender well with the axle at full lock and fully articulated. As far as 40's go your defiantly going to want to do some trimming down there. Articulate the suspension to full flex, then add another 2.5" to the tread on the tire and see what is in the way. If its close you could always do 39's:D IROK makes some pretty sexy ones.

If you only plan on using it for around town you shouldn't have any problem, but that engine is going to have to work real hard to get the whole rig and 40's rolling. I also see you have a semi float rear. Careful playing with that thing to hard. Snap an axle shaft or lose the C-clip in the pumpkin and your going to loose your tire with it, especially with big tires like that.

if you want them to fit thay will fit!! i have 37's on my 93 toyota 4 runner! and have hade 38s and 39s on other toyotas i have hade in the past!! with some trimming and 10 lbs problem solver!!!
