So yesterday didnt work out for the guys at St Joseph Diesel to get that motor. So were heading down this Sunday hopefully.

Now I have two plans for what to do with this motor.

1: Slowly build it up the way I want it with all of the stops pulled, and just put a GT4202 turbo on my current motor for this season

or

2: Do a low budget build with Howards Cams rods, cut the stock pistons, throw in some ARP head studs, add the 4202, do a DIY twin CP3 setup with the pumps from both motors and MDEs DIY kit, and 60% injectors.

Then swap the motors and slowly build my current motor to the way I like it.

Im leanign toward option number 2. Im gonna get the motor and the turbo around here. then see how much more sponsor money I can scrape up.

in the end option 2 wastes a lot of money but gives me a much more powerful truck for this season that should be a little less prone to having engine failure.

Just figured id share

If it was ME, I would do option #1.

They say it's easier to fix it when it's NOT broken.

But whatever you choose, good luck!

With me getting this tranny, I hoping a motor build isn't in the works for me.

option 1 woulod lead to a broken motor sooner than option 2.

The budget build idea is a stout platform, just not as much potential as the all out motor build im planning which looks like its going to cost over $30,000 from intake to exhaust and everything in between. I can slowly get enough sponsor money for it, but im afraid not in time for this season.

Ah..

I see your standpoint now.

trying to get to the point I want and still have a good season this year as I will be going up against 800-1,000hp cummins and duramax trucks with open drivelines.

Option #2 sounds like it'll be your best bet

It'll keep you competetive until you can unleash the beast:D Plus it will give you a more solid platform for this season.

well see but i think im just gonna throw an s400 on my stock motor and build the other one. it saves about 5,000 that would just get wasted.

a guy around here was running an aurora 5000 on a stock motor and he held his own against everybody., dynoed 591hp on a single LB7 CP3 with a damn good tune.
