What model truck comes with a CS 144 Alternator

I'm wanting to put a CS 144 alt on my 94 Burb, can anyone tell me what year & model truck that I need to tell the parts guy to get the right one with the correct size pulley so my tach will be accurate?

I think CS144 Alternators come on most Duramax's. 2001 and up. But I am sure that the pulley size is different.

They always put the wrong pulley size.
I have learned to live with it.

IIRC:
CS144 comes from 96-00 truck but it is optional, the default is CS130D.
AD244 comes in 01 and up.

AD244 is the same diameter as CS144 with less width and different connector.

Always keep the OEM pulley because they will always give you one spec'd for a gasser.

Tell the parts guy... Well just swap the pulley yourself. Use an impact and knock the nut off and back on to swap them. Hint the Gasser pulley is smaller than the diesel pulley. It is usually visible. Turn your core in without a pulley.

You could also find an auto electric shop that rebuilds starters and alternators and they can swap to the proper size on one of their new or rebuilt units. Rebuilt CS-144's are better than the CS-130's by design. So far I have had great luck with rebuilt CS-144's - not the best option, but, good enough esp. vs. a new cs-130. The best way to go is all new.

I don't think I have the original pulley for my truck (misplaced) I had an alternator shop put a smaller pulley on in an effort to increase the idle output. Since I am installing a new motor I wanted to upgrade the alt. and brackets. I like the CS 144 because of the bolt hole on the back that I can put a brace on. Can anyone tell me what the diesel pulley measures? Is the pulley on my 99 diesel tahoe the same size? Does the 99 tahoe get its tach signal from the alt like the 94?

IIRC it's 2 5/8" and yes your 99 is the same
