I carefully bagged and labeled all of the bolts when I yanked my engine. The machine shop nicely dumped them all together and tumbled them nice and shiny clean, so I've had lots of fun sorting through them.
I got down toward the end of my pile of bolts, and there were the right number of bolts, the right length, for the flexplate-to-torque converter. However they are grade 5 equivalent (9.8), and I wonder if those are the right ones. ...seems like I ought to put in Grade 8 equivalent bolts like the flexplate uses when it's bolted to the crank. I think I might try to find some at the local auto supply house, since the local hardware stores don't carry any 10.9 metric bolts. ...or are they SAE? The ones for the flywheel have the regular Grade 8 SAE markings. The tumbling changed the threads just enough that they all go in kinda difficult. Maybe I threaded those metric bolts into SAE holes when I bolted the flex plate to the torque converter.
