Vegetable Gardens

The more rare thing here is the teamwork seen. As Denata pointed out doing his cinder block work: working alone is jot just hard but takes a long time to get some things accomplished. Putting the work in early to teach the next generation how to properly jump in and do it… that is the real skill easily missed here. Well done on that major task my friend.
Well noted action, especially with the youngster.

The garden is located near the river Chulman, literally 30 steps away. Along the river is the best quality soil, the tallest trees and the densest vegetation.

Nice rich soil for sure. Does the river ever flood that area?

We use to grow 8 acres of Burley Tobacco in sandy river bottoms years ago. It really made an excellent crop, plants were way over my head with broad leaves. That river would flood those bottoms ever so many years. Most recently, last year when Hurricane Helene came through, I would say the water was over 15 feet deep in those bottoms. No harm done, no crops there anymore, it's grown up now.
