tuner horse power gains

I have maybe a stupid question as I am going to be new to the DMAX world in the very near future. The question is if you start out with 360 hp LBZ and you add a tuner, do you then have the 360 hp plus what wver tune you programmed in to the truck? Example, LBZ w 360 hp with a 80 hp tune, does this = 440 hp?? Can somebody please answer this quetion?

Not even close. the numbers are at the flywheel. Also, a tuner that adds 80hp adds 80hp at one point of the power band not necessarily at peak power.

Thanks for the info. One more question, if you had put the same tuner on the LLY would the horse power gains be similiar??

I appreciate the info. If you had the LLY engine with the Predator tuner, would the hp gains be the same, or would you start at 310 hp stock LLY and then add the approximate hp gains that you reported off the dyno??

its hard to tell and personally i could care less about dyno numbers.

They really aren't for much except bragging rights.

Bottom line is that it will go fast.
