I'm looking at Warn winches for my Kaw 650. I think the 2500# should be enough. Anyone have thoughts between the RT or XT series? Is the 25 enough or should I bump to the 3000# rating? Other random input?

guess it depends on what you foresee using the winch for. Is recovery because it's at the bottom of a ravine or recovery because your just hung up on a log. 2500# would be enough for 99% of what you most likely would need one for. You can always throw a snatch block in to double your rating, of course you know that already :D

I've had both rated winches on my patrol truck's headache rack over the years. Can't say I really noticed much of a difference between the two when winching a moose into the bed.

50 bucks for the 3000 pound winch at harbor freight.....tough to beat it for the money....mine works great
