Looking for a cheap cap for my '05 Chevy with an 8 foot bed. I can find Caps that were on Fords everywhere but not too many that say Chevy. What caps will fit?

I'm not worried about looks, just function. I'll only be using it every once in a while as I normally tow a goosekneck.

While every long bed can fit a sheet of plywood on the floor, the dimensions of the bed walls are different between the models. Then to top it off every time they come out with a new pickup design the exterior bed dimensions change a little. Take measurements of the width of the bed front and back (they will be different believe it or not). Would be the only way to know for sure.

Ok then does anyone have appx dimensions for the bed rails of an '05 long bed?

I know most fords are about 100" x 72"

I'm thinking like, A ford, about 1980-99 or so. will clamp to a 94-2002 Dodge, but hangs over a couple inches, that's fine with me.
